I have been working at G2 full-time for less than a year

    Pros

G2 is growing rapidly. With $100m in investment from equity partners, the firm is poised to hire over 100 people in 2019. The rapid growth will provide tremendous career options and paths for employees to also progress quickly. There are a lot of nice perks - free lunch 4 out of 5 days; 80% firm-paid medical benefits; unlimited PTO

    Cons

One has to be willing to work in an environment that is quickly-paced. There is occasional ambiguity in processes as the firm scales - very typical in this type of environment.

    Advice to Management

Continue to support and develop the employees of the firm and the culture they prize.

    I have been working at G2 full-time

    Pros

Free lunch 4x a week, but that's just a ploy to keep you in the office and working more.

    Cons

Revenue matters more than employees well being, health, or lives outside of G2. Leadership sets revenue goals for employees that are not yet hired, not based on empirical evidence on how to recreate success and hit quotas, just on a whim of what they want to see. Existing employees are expected to carry these revenue goals for the not-yet-hired, and new hires are rushed through training and given a quota without time to learn. It's a very toxic environment, filled with stress coming from management who are being told by leadership that quotas need to be hit, but without a clear path on how to achieve these numbers. The product offerings are great, and I hear other other teams are happier, but steer clear of a sales job here...unless you like micro-management, not having a life outside work, and barely seeing your friends/family.

I have been working at G2 full-time for more than a year

    Pros

G2 has a culture i've never seen before in my years in the professional world. The leaders really strive to live by their values in everything they do, and really care about their employees and making G2 the best place to work. Not only through the numerous amazing perks (free lunch 4 days a week, unlimited PTO, AMAZING healthcare benefits, free swag, apple products, giveaways, fully stocked kitchen/fridge) but also in their investment in their employees. They've put in efforts to ensure all employees are fairly paid, are building career paths for all roles, are opening an incredible new office in Chicago and San Francisco, and are offering international opportunities. This is a great time to get aboard this rocketship!

    Cons

Similar to other commenters, this company is going through some insane growth right now which comes with some pains. You have to really dive in head first to the start up life, which means very hard work and requires flexibility. If you're not up to the challenge then G2 isn't for you. It's also a very young workforce, with that comes some immaturity.

    Advice to Management

Improve communication to the organization as a whole, and be more proactive than reactive.

    I have been working at G2 full-time

    Pros

Everything moves quickly. You have the ability to make meaningful impact on the business regardless of your job level. The team is bright and works hard towards the overall mission. Free lunch and unlimited vacation are just part of the perks. The best part is the culture and the people. Different events and outings are complimented by giving back to the community through our G2 Gives program.

    Cons

Scaling is always challenging but the team has done a nice job of listening to feedback and adjusting as necessary

    Advice to Management

Continue to grow but keep culture in mind. Our colleagues are what keep us here and happy.

I have been working at G2 full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    1. Great work environment, easy to ask for help and all necessary training & support are provided. First sales role and I am confident/comfortable in the role based on how I've been guided and taught 2. Free lunch 4 days a week, and healthy snacks readily available 3. Leadership is strong and trustworthy 4. Cross departmental collaboration is effective and clear, all teams seem to be properly alligned

    Cons

    1. The on-boarding process could use a bit of fine tuning, but they just recently rolled out a formal training process. Those behind it welcome any feedback. 2. You may not get a lacroix if you're not fast about it!

    Advice to Management

Continue the same great work and scaling appropriately does not seem like it will be an issue

I have been working at G2 full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Culture. Intelligent people. Room for advancement. Merit-based promotions and raises. Benefits: free lunch, snacks, beer. Frequent company and team events. Company values.

    Cons

Salary is on the low end, though stock has the potential to make up for it. Long hours at times. Quick growth can lead to growing pains.

    Advice to Management

Financially rewarding younger employees who have grown from entry-level positions will be key to retaining talent. External management hires and those promoted internally should not make so much more than those rising quickly.

    Pros

Where to begin. Mac Laptops. Free lunch everyday except Wednesday. Visionary CEO. Start up culture-- ask questions, challenge inefficient processes/practices, respect ideas at all levels. Expectations are transparent. Leadership CARES. Corporate Stewardship, check. Workplace equality and respect, check. Competitive pay with incentives. Literally, I took a base salary cut and I'm making more now because they give you the autonomy to do your job. No scripted phone calls. Great industry and competitive solution. The list keeps growing and growing why G2 Crowd is legit. Cool coworkers. Fun times. Everyone is willing to help and listen.

    Cons

Ramp for meetings set, no ramp for activities. Sometimes we run out of vegetarian entrees so get to lunch on time.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing and recruiting and hiring talented and authentic people.

I have been working at G2

    Pros

Decent culture. Free lunch + snacks every day. Company mission is one that is easy to get, and easy to become passionate about.

    Cons

Uncertainty about roles/responsibilities. Large sales team can be somewhat cliquey. Surprisingly high number of communications breakdowns. Not everyone seems to be valued equally. Location isn't the easiest to get to. The company also seems to spam a lot of people via email. (You can see some people's complaints if you search for them.)

    Advice to Management

Push people on team - even if they're a founder and/or have been around a while. There seems to be a varying level of accountability.
