    Pros

Fantastic upper management that actually listens to their employees, superb training program both in the field and at the corporate offices (typically 4 to 5 weeks total), freedom to run hotel as long as it is performing well, Pay was great.

    Cons

I really don't know of anything to say for this company. I would go back to work for them without hesitation.

I worked at G6 Hospitality full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

café, covered parking, flexible atmosphere, events to try to boost moral for holidays. Nice people to work with.

    Cons

behind of technology with systems and policies. Managers are clueless and do bare minimum. Hourly person's yearly bonus is not much at all. No accountability.
Departments do not communicate with one another.

    Advice to Management

Pay the hard workers more and get rid of the ones who are not there for the success of the business.

I worked at G6 Hospitality full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fairly good work/life balance, though I think this has a lot to do with your position and who you report to; Lots of flexibility (with the right Manager); Early dismissals before holidays; on-site cafe

    Cons

The culture is very slow-paced, antiquated and extremely hierarchical. Essentially, that means you talk to your direct supervisor and your direct supervisor only. Talking to or collaborating with anyone too far above your pay grade isn’t encouraged. It’s a very “know your place” environment. While the company does conduct quarterly town hall meetings where the C-suite is present and participates, it isn’t quite enough to bridge the gap that exists between leadership and line-level employees. Departments rarely collaborate on projects, and when that does happen, it’s usually at the director level or higher. Communication is severely lacking. When big change is coming up the pike or employee safety is a concern, the company doesn’t readily and appropriately relay all the information to its employees. If you’re looking for a culture that thrives on empowering its employees and listening to their thoughts and ideas to help improve the business, you won’t find it here. In my opinion, this isn’t a place where you come to grow. There are almost no opportunities for advancement. Sure, there are the occasional job openings across the company, but they aren’t promotion-type opportunities. They’re by and large lateral moves. Decisions are made at the top with very little to no input from employees who are executing the daily strategy. There are very few opportunities to get involved with the company, be it on a committee or volunteering to help with community events. This company’s CSR footprint hardly makes an impression. With so many other companies substantially giving back to the communities they serve, G6’s philanthropic presence pales in comparison. Many positions are very siloed, so if you work best in a team environment, this isn’t the place for you.

    Advice to Management

More opportunities for advancement; Better communication from leadership (things are so hush-hush and employees are often the last to know about anything); More PTO and vacation and make it accessible sooner than after 90 days of employment; Less meetings and conference calls for things that can easily be conveyed in a quick email or phone call; More opportunities for cross-functional and collaborative work across departments
