I worked at GC Marketing Services as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Short term assignments allows for variety of assignments. Interesting clients and projects, mainly short term.

    Cons

GCM now claims to pay on the Friday AFTER the 30 days FROM the LAST day worked, and then claims the post office takes up to 10 MORE days to mail a check (to either coast). Nonsense. $20-$25/hour may seem like good pay at the outset, but waiting 40-45 days for an $80 payment (common) isn't worth it. Clients often shorten hours needed than what was posted by GCM.

    Advice to Management

Get the cash flow or accounts receiveable under control. Do direct deposit for your ICs. Stop the payment shenanigans.

    Advice to Management

Hire your Brand Ambassadors as part time employees or give them a choice

    Pros

Variety of gigs, local and out of state, handsomely paid, opportunities for vast networking, sometimes flight room and board paid for. good stories to tell friends and family.

    Cons

Have to live a carefree, attachment free lifestyle if you want to become permanent

I have been working at GC Marketing Services as a contractor (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Allows for a flexible schedule -- you aren't committed to a full-time job. Jobs usually pay $15/hr and up. Decent confirmation system so that you are not confused about booked work.

    Cons

Some clients have expectations that are beyond reasonable. It's hard to get work on a regular basis. Bad communication with the office -- if you need to get a hold of someone, you often don't know who the account manager is for the gig you are working. Not high-paying compared to other companies.

I have been working at GC Marketing Services as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fun work. Cool perks. Sometimes you get to keep the products you demo or promote. Great pay. Helpful coworkers.

    Cons

Not enough work available. They are very slow at paying you & accounting/payroll department never responds. Poor training. Poor in-field staff supervision for some of the team jobs. When doing in-store demos 85% of the time store management and other staff aren't aware what's going on or blame you for past employee issues.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees in a timely manner. 2-3 months is ridiculous! You need better training especially with product knowledge. You need better in-field staff supervision. Confirm jobs better.
