    At the end they treated employees fairly and did what they could to take care of them.

    A paycheck and medical benefits...thats all.

    Cons

    Blantant favoritism based on personal non work related performance; negative environment that does not respect employees, particularly women. Unless youre absolutely desperate, keep job searching.

    Advice to Management

    No point telling management anything because they couldnt care less.

    Pros

    Great people out in the field, hard workers that keep the contracts going.

    Cons

    Micro managed by Corp, cutting employees hours just to increase their profit and drive their EBITA up to make the company attractive to a buyer not thinking of the hourly employees that have to pay the same bills if they cut their hours from 40 to 30.

    Advice to Management

    Perhaps now that ABM bought GCA there will be a change...time will tell. Think of the employees that make you money and keep the contracts going.

    Stick to proven methods...New management should listen more rather than coming in and immediately making very major changes

    It's a job I guess...

    Cons

    Extremely unprofessional and biased management who treats employee like meat instead of human beings. Bottom line is the bottom dollar and they don't care who they have to lie, cheat or steal from to get it. HR is horrible. They are now doing business as ABM Industries but don't let that fool you. Stay away from Bastrop ISD at Bastrop Texas. The director is totally incompetent and can't tell the truth if his life depended on it.

    Pros

    Room for growth is realistic and achievable so long as you Manage your business units and employees appropriately. Benefits and pay are within competitive standards. Upper Management takes yours and clients concerns seriously with progressive steps to improve where necessary.

    Cons

    Work life balance can be a struggle depending on your account and it's operations, employees, client, etc. Possible above average turn-over rates for this industry. A lot of travel normally necessary in own transportation, however mileage is paid bi-weekly.

    Advice to Management

    I personally wasn't trained at all during the beginning of my employment and was assumed qualified per my background experiences. I was given a tour of all accounts and how to manage certain functions of the business, however, the majority of my operations was self taught or trial and error and assistance from appropriate resources. Take the time to fully implement training.
