I worked at GCC Technologies as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

About average across the board. Decent people for the most part.

    Cons

Encourage truthful updates from contract employees without fear of termination if external site projects and managers are toxic and terrible.

    Pros

Good contracts if catching at the right time. Can make some money if negotiate properly. Take opportunity to train if you can. Market your skills within the company.

    Cons

Insensitive. Both to clients and employees. Use of threats and bullying from leadership to "keep you in line." Will lie to make you believe the client is expecting anything. Just keep vigilant of training and development on your own because it's never supported. Telework is based on favoritism. Overall company moral is low amongst contract employees. Will make you feel as you're the problem when nearing the close of a contract.

    Advice to Management

Client and industry word of mouth can ruin a good future if not treated right.

I have been working at GCC Technologies full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Flex-time (by contract)
    vacation time accrual
    competitive pay
    great benefits
    401(k) matching
    profit sharing
    Family environment
    Weekends off

    Cons

Once you are on a contract, you are basically stuck there until the contract ends.
    Not much room for advancement.
    Job uncertainty when contracts end.
Upper Management is very reactive, not proactive. Knee jerk reactions before knowing the entire story.

    Advice to Management

Train current employees for positions rather than hiring from outside of the company.

I have been working at GCC Technologies as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

They take care of their employees - most contractors with the government don't pay administrative leave when the government delays, but they usually do. They offer a decent holiday bonus and they offer good benefits.

    Cons

They need to grow a little more backbone dealing with their clients. Sometimes the clients can be unreasonable and they can't allow them to be unreasonable.

    Advice to Management

There should be a more cohesive plan for professional development and dealing with other administrative processes. Sometimes the management aren't as good resources as they could be in terms of mentorship and career advancement. It would be a good way to assure higher retention.

I worked at GCC Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Decent pay- some of the time. Company elected a very nice health insurance plan this year, unlike previous three years. Good benefits with 401k. Great coworkers and friendly people. Somewhat flexible working hours in the office.

    Cons

Very negative atmosphere most of the time. Bonuses are rare. Pay cuts occur often. Constantly fluctuating pay scale/rate. High stress. Company is very reactive and does not seem to care about employees' wellbeing. Nothing ever feels good enough. Does not offer teleworking and employees are expected to be in the office regardless of weather conditions and hazardous travel conditions. There has been and is discrimination among certain employees in regards to bending of set rules. Poor handling of private HR concerns and mild animosity between management and workers. No room for advancement. Lay offs of long term employees with no calls backs. No promotions or internal hiring. Unreasonable expectations. Questionable ethics.

    Advice to Management

Focus on employee morale and set a positive and encouraging atmosphere. Take individual concerns seriously and do not punish entire group out of frustration with one person. Pay cuts discourage and stress employees out. Appreciate employees.

    Pros

President was very knowledgeable and shared knowledge on occasion. The management team are type A personalities and live for work!

    Cons

They don't understand the concept of snow and DC as they in snow country. You are expected to be at work on time even when the roads are hazardous, and gov't is closed.

    Advice to Management

Try to figure out how to discourage inter office relationships and treat employees like they are actually wanted and needed at the office.
