    I have been working at GCR Inc. full-time

    Pros

    Follows SDLC, great talent to learn from, uses up to date technologies. Gives bonuses and education expenses.

    Cons

    They didn't want to pay me what I am worth.

    Advice to Management

    Pay Sr. talent Sr. pay

    I worked at GCR Inc. full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Fairly flexible with the PTO of 10 hours per month if full time. 5 days a week and 40 plus hours when approved. Team effort is expected. Work schedule is somewhat flexible. Team Leads are confident and each fosters different management styles that leads to productivity.

    Cons

    Pay is not equitable among full time employees and those who have more time and experience working Closeout to those with none or very little. Yet, often we are expected to train new employees who have no Closeout experience even while those new employees are all being hired at $5-15 more per hour. This leads to job dissatisfaction.

    A Program Manager who leads any group needs to value their workers with more than undelivered promises of a pay increase. When morale turns low among your top producers, one should be asking why that is and what will it take to keep them productive yet content.

    Advice to Management

    Quit telling lies it is bad for business.

    I worked at GCR Inc. full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Fairly good pay of $31.00+/ hr requiring little experience prior to starting the job. Very flexible work hours and very laid back atmosphere.

    Cons

    Mgt is too laid back which causes them to manage in a reactive style than proactive management style. Not long-term minded. No usable training or career development offered. Closeout team members are required to tell management how each employees plan to develop them self rather than GCR offering ways to develop its employees.

    Pros

    The company itself is great, management sometimes is not, in the last year things have improved alot though. Glad I stayed

    Cons

    Sometimes management is not so hot, a lot of rule changes. Seemed like some of them wanted to prove themselves at the expense of the crew

    Advice to Management

    Don't be too quick to judge employees, they may be good workers, they just do things differently but same outcome

    I have been working at GCR Inc. full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Starting salary is quite competitive when compared to similar size consulting companies;
    People who work here are genuinely nice and professional, and it is a lot of fun to work around them;
    The projects are meaningful and challenging at the same time, so you can expect to learn a lot of stuff;
    Work life balance is very good;

    Cons

    The career path can be unclear because that's not the primary concern of the management;
    The leadership of the CEO and directors sometimes can feel weak;
    The technology used here is not evolving along with the industry most of the time;
    The culture of the company is vague and the employees are not bound together;

    Advice to Management

    Put each employee's career enhancement as your priority and help them grow with the company

    I worked at GCR Inc. full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Founder is somewhat of a local celebrity. Their checks (mostly) don't bounce.

    Cons

    Total lack of respect for employees as assets.
    Stifle innovation and personal growth
    All continuous improvement work must be done on own time or one must make up time with (unpaid) overtime.
    Mis represents the amount of work you do to clients
    Bill you out at different rates depending on customer for the same exact work.
    NOT A LOCAL COMPANY. The interests of the equity company that owns GCR Inc come abouve all else.
    One will witness activity that is questionable legally, and is morally abhorent.

    Advice to Management

    Dissolve the entire entity and let the people who work tirelessly for now reward free so they can expirence what personal growth and supportive management are.

    I worked at GCR Inc. full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    When I started there GCR had some respect for employees and treat them like human beings. The benefits package is pretty good. Some of management seems to excel at their job. The offices in New Orleans have a great view.

    Cons

    GCR has lost its heart. With a few individual changes in upper management employees are now treated as if they are disposable cogs in a machine. A few long-term members of management seem to actively fight any suggestion of innovation or change, preferring instead to adhere to decades old ways of creating products and doing business. Many of the project managers are somewhat incompetent. Projects in part or in whole are being assigned with a blind eye to staff members that are very clearly incapable of handling them. Whether that is intentional or not is hard to tell.

    Advice to Management

    Start treating your employees like people again. Take a real hard look at who is working for you and how they are working for you. Staff loyalty is sometimes more important than the bottom line.
