    Pros

Tires is a steady industry , you will always have work.

    Cons

New management are taking away all the perks of the job ..
Just because you rebrand the logo doesn't mean anything if you run it into the ground..

    Advice to Management

Go back to roofing materials ..

    Pros

Autonomy to learn the industry at your own pace during "training program". The flexibility to move around in your "market" as you see fit to best serve the company and client. Flexible schedule to start the workday in the field calling on clients. Meeting people in their element. Every day is a different day and challenges you to utilize your experience to succeed. Great People!

    Cons

The "training program" is loosely monitored. The base salary is closer to a draw in which you could owe money if sales goals aren't achieved. You have to ask the right questions to get the answers you need - information is not always offered. Potential earnings are good if you have the right accounts: no/slow accounts = no/slow earnings. Pricing is volatile. Lots of variables to try and keep under control. Competition in the market is tough and you are not the only dealer for your brand. No protected territories and overlap with many CSRs for the Region.

    Advice to Management

Simplify the pricing. Update software being used to invoice and enter data to make creating invoices a mobile effort while in the field. Structure training according to individual's needs - CSRs will only be as effective as their training is. Account base should be leveled out for all CSRs to have the same potential to earn - not so lopsided.

    Pros

The Tampa office is larger than most so that was a huge factor. Everybody who worked there was really great and the store manager, Pat, is one of the best bosses I, and everybody in the store says they've ever had. As an intern I was able to work in the store on the administrative side, hit the road with sales reps, and even go out with technicians. Very positive.

    Cons

Not sure if tire industry is the most exciting. However, it is durable and you can make a great career out of it.

    Advice to Management

Good job sending intern out in the field. Business to business with sales reps and product knowledge with technicians was invaluable.

I worked at GCR Tire Centers full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Opportunities for advancement and willingness to train employees. There are great opportunities to work over seas as an expat and learn new things.

    Cons

Lack of vacation days. The pay could have been a little better and annual reviews regarding work performance would have been helpful.

    Advice to Management

Need to evaluate employee performance and discuss with them personal growth and annual company goals.

I worked at GCR Tire Centers full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits, Hours, Environment, People, Job Security, Salary, Fast Paced. It was a great experience working there. Would go back if the right opportunity presented itself.

    Cons

Like any job there are a few internal conflicts, such as people butting heads more or less a difference of opinion.

    Advice to Management

I was management when I was there and all I would say is keep up the good work. The management that I dealt with was always helpful and cooperative.
