    Pros

Lots of opportunity to progress in your career and plenty of room to take on new responsibilities. Plenty of work to be done, definitely not a shortage of work available.

    Cons

It can be hard to say no to the business when you commonly to go above and beyond.

A great company with a great amount of opportunity. Great people and rewarding projects to work on.

    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Working on cutting edge technology. Passionate colleagues. The company is actively taking actions to increase employee compensation to adjust for the employment market and to be highly competive with the industry

    Cons

GE HR expects employees to stay in a role a minimum of 18 months and there are cases where it is benefiticial for capable employees to move into higher responsibility roles at a faster pace. This has led to some employees leaving the company and then returning in order to progress career at a faster rate than would be achieved from maintaining employment without a temporary seperation.

    Great people

Mar 10, 2023 - Sr. Software Engineer in Cincinnati, OH
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Super great people to work with. If real life issues pop up, taking a partial day or whatever isn't a huge issue. Vacation isn't officially tracked and is one of those "unlimited" things. Make sure you take vacation.

    Cons

The only real con is the pay. GE is far below what I would be making just about anywhere else. Benefits other than the vacation I'd say are average.

Retaliation runs rampant in GE, and corporate shows a blind eye.

Mar 27, 2023 - Director of IT Operations
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

None, no advancement. STAY CLEAR! Read CONS!

    Cons

You must have blinders on to work here. You must do what your are told. You can not have a voice, or they will create a false narrative and have you fired. I was an advocate for every GE employee and I was fired because of it. Tim G, created a fake report of hearsay. No verbal warning, no written warning, just suspension. I raised a retaliation concern with corporate but they too, are corrupt. Such a shame that Larry Culps mission statement in ignored. Just the opposite. They encourage retaliation to the fullest. - Do not work for GE ever, save yourself from disappointment. They will never side with you and if you're a threat, (Which I was) they will keep you from moving up in the company. They will try every which way to keep you down. Hourly Employees work their butts off, with zero bonuses. The PB band and up gets a bonus from the hourly employees hard work, which is not fair. I tried to get bonuses for us, but they saw me as a threat. Also Safety is not first with GE. They will take months to fix a problem that causes harm to the hourly employees. One when to the hospital. Their motto is, if its costs money do not fix it. It has been proven over and over that this is the case. Also, do not use Yammer. Its a GE forum of every single employee and my posts became legendary. They saw me as a whistle blower and needed me gone. They found a way, illegally. Unjustified termination; with a false narrative. I started at $22hr in 2019, ended @ $25.37 2023. About $0.84 cents a year average. Things not to do 1. Talk / speak your mind. 2. Report safety concerns to the Ombudsman. 3. Post on yammer when you do not get answers from your site. 4. Do not work for GE, there are MUCH higher paying jobs than GE. They give pennies for raises. $0.57 cents, $0.14 cents.
