I have been working at GE Healthcare full-time for less than a year

    Pros

good compensation, work life balance, permissive leaves. If your are lucky and her into good project which works on latest tech stack it's like super cake. But in general health care would be little behind in tech stack.

    Cons

old technology, too much of process due to nature of work which serves to hospital.

I worked at GE Healthcare full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Love the advanced imaging technology and some talented very talented scientists that help create it.

    Cons

Management is just trying to survive the short-term so not much concern about long-term vision. Management tends to have strong communication skills combined with relatively weak technical skills so that same type of person tends to thrive here as an individual contributor.

    Advice to Management

Long-term vision would require a culture change from the top since this is a very hierarchical organization.

I have been working at GE Healthcare full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Pay is above average for this area. Work is interesting and gives plenty of opportunity for learning new skills. Flexible work hours are the norm.

    Cons

GE's financial problems have created a chaotic and unstable environment. There have been a lot of layoffs and jobs moved offshore. You really don't know from one week to the next if you'll still have a job. "Knowledge Transfer" is the mantra when these actions are taken, as if years or decades of highly specialized engineering expertise can be easily transferred in a few meetings.

    Pros

Easy work: work load is light.

    Cons

Too many bosses. A developer works with a people manager, project manager, product manager, program manager, scrum master, and architect, Nobody knows where, when, how a decision can be made.

    Advice to Management

    Get lost? Or don't lost?
