    Pros

Well structured business with clear processes. Good benefits.

    Cons

GE has a matrix organisation so it is common to have various bosses.

    Advice to Management

Senior leadership changes too quickly not allowing them to understand the market inside out to increase growth and get better understanding for better decisions.

Fantastic company, great potential, good atmosphere, opportunities, it certainly feels like they look after their employees with a range of flexible benefits, reasonable salaries.

    Cons

HR department are not helpful, certain sites are restricted heavily by HR not engaging appropriately. HR do not support employee growth in certain sites.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work, but please have a standardised HR policy covering ALL sites - and ensure it is rigorously adhered to.

    Pros

Benefits are good- flexible working, health benefits, pension scheme, childcare vouchers, GE corporate perks.
Exciting projects to work on, Makes life very interesting

    Cons

The way they treat staff is poor. They are closing offices, left right and centre after buying us 5 years ago.

    Advice to Management

Look after your staff, and they will look after your customers.

I have been working at GE (More than 8 years)

    Pros

some of the people are great to work with, particularly those from the Converteam days have a wealth of technical knowledge

    Cons

a ruined GE acquisition of Converteam
    constant funding cuts
short term approach to growth due to unrealistic quarterly targets
    terrible morale
    constant threat of redundancy

    Advice to Management

ditch the quarterly reporting and short approach . invest for the long term. stop making good engineers redundant! Conveteam made money and all GE can do is lose it- how did you get it so wrong

I have been working at GE as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

As an intern you will get to learn all the necessary skills a software engineer will need in the work place. As it is a larger company you can always be safe knowing they can provide support should you need it for anything.

    Cons

The other side of the coin regarding a large company is that sometimes things move somewhat slowly. When there is a significant change or development that needs to happen there are meetings and talks to reflect this so you need to be patient.

    Advice to Management

Keep on going the way you are. The way employees are treated is perfect, I love my placement and hope I can come back once my placement is concluded and I finish my final year.

I worked at GE as an intern

    Pros

Exciting project that are based around the world. Good training and introduction to the company and its core values. A lot of site tours visiting GE infrastructure and understanding the supply chain.

    Cons

Pay wasnt great, but was an intern so wasnt expecting much. Organization of work was sometimes not done properly. Introduction was slow, laptops, access cards, and emails all took 2 weeks to come into place.

    Advice to Management

Management very friendly but often busy, so any issues were regularly diverted to other members of staff.

I have been working at GE full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Reasonable compensation package, co-workers genuinely try to support one another and the tea trolley.

    Cons

Far too much focus on meeting monthly and quarterly financial targets. The fear of failing, despite not having the resources to do the job properly. Horrible office environment.

    Advice to Management

Need to focus on employee engagement and future strategy.
