I worked at GEICO full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I loved working for Geico, they were an honest company and give alot of paid time off right after your 6months. They gave bonuses for things even if it wasnt necessary. I love working for a Berkshire Hathaway company i would have stayed there forever if it werent for my family situation needing me home full time!

    Cons

Some of the coworkers don't pull their weight. Including supervisors.

    I worked at GEICO full-time

    Pros

Almost nothing actually. Sometimes the boss would buy you food, that's about it.

    Cons

Pretty much everything else is a con.

    Advice to Management

    Stop being so terrible

    I worked at GEICO full-time

    Pros

    Good pay, room for growth

    Cons

Very high call volume. Calls reviewed and you are coached. And although no one is perfect, every tiny thing about the call is scrutinized and suggestions are made on how you can do better next time.

I have been working at GEICO full-time

    Pros

    Good benefits
    Paid training
They pay to have you licensed, no need to be licenses before getting the job
    Tuition reimbursement
    Room to grow
    Lots to learn
Livable wages, although not as high as they should be

    Cons

Penalized for using vacation/sick time (goes against dependability rating)
Work load takes more than the 40hrs/week to accomplish, but upper levels do not get paid overtime to finish their own work
Work loads tend to be uneven depending on what states you're handling
The usual political favoritism - every time you interview for the same job, they'll have different metrics they care about, often changed in order to exclude particular people
They're not a pro-employee company, mainly because they're more concerned with saving money
Maternity/Paternity leave is available but unpaid
Pay is less than other insurance companies
    Work load far outweighs compensation

    I worked at GEICO full-time

    Pros

Your peers are like family. Always willing to help and fun to be a round

    Cons

Your peers are the only ones who will help and the only ones who care

    Advice to Management

Lower work levels. Dont give supervisor jobs to people who have no clue how to do the reps job

I have been working at GEICO full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay, some supervisors actually do their job, on site cafeteria, decent health insurance, team members are always willing to help

    Cons

Short breaks, getting a promotion is basically numbers and politics, unrealistic goals

    Advice to Management

To some advice about metrics from your associates! The ones actually taking calls I'm sure we can tell you if something is effective or not better than looking at us like numbers and reading effectiveness from a report
