      Not worth it at ALL

      Pros

      Good benefits and OK salary.

      Cons

-Everything else. Every part of the job is micro-managed from training to orientation to the floor. Given inconsistent information and attitude from superiors when asking a question. Don’t fall for the “geico family” talk-You are always expendable to them as an associate. Impossibly high metric goals and a VERY heavy workload you eventually will not be able to keep up with. Upper management does not take any phone calls so they are out of touch and frankly glad to not be in your shoes. The absolute worst part is dealing with angry/upset customers basically all day everyday, it takes a massive toll. No safety precautions for COVID- outbreaks in the office that were pushed under the rug. Contact tracing is not effective and you are basically forced to work from the office even when you are not comfortable doing so during a global pandemic.

Excellent company to work for if you have a good management team.

      Pros

Job security benefits, scheduling, Pay is decent for the actual job description (which is different from what current manager expects)

      Cons

stressful. Not enough pay for expectations and demands placed on department. Unempathic managers. Unclear expectations but also extremely micromanage and everything is rated with grades like a school. New managers every 2 years . Due to this the person in charge of you, never has any idea what your job is or how to complete your job duties. Makes it difficult and unfair to be rated (which impacts your raises)by someone who doesn't understand your position. If you get a terrible manager, you will hate your life since everything is so micro managed. I loved this job for the past 7 years and now due to a change in direct management hate it.

They reel you in with the pay and benefits, and then when you realize the job is terrible, you have no way to get out.

      Pros

Good pay, generous paid vacation and sick time, good health insurance. (This is how they reel you in)

      Cons

Everything else. You are micro-micro-micro-managed at GEICO. Everything you do is monitored. You have no freedom what-so-ever. Every single aspect of your phone calls are picked apart... from your word choice, tone of voice, your pace, down to the way you breathe. You are never good enough. There's always something you can be doing better, no matter how hard you try. Customers are extremely rude. Call volumes are insane... Back to back to back calls from the moment you go "ready" to the end of your shift... And you only get two 15 minute breaks and a small lunch. You need to use the bathroom? You better be able to hold it until your scheduled break times.. unless you want to be questioned as to why you took 2 minutes of your alloted 30 minutes of break, and reprimanded for it. Management is rude and doesn't care if you're over-worked or are stressed out. Everyone at GEICO ends up getting FMLA for some bogus reason just so they can take more time off because of the stress of the job. Almost nobody has any care-time left. Metrics can sometimes be impossible to reach, and depending on your region, the bar keeps getting raised higher which makes it even more impossible. They don't tell you during training that as a customer service representative, you're expected to sell customers homeowners insurance. Think I'm just a disgruntled employee? Ask anyone else you know who has or currently works at GEICO. They'll tell you the same stuff.

      Pros

my teammates nothing else, pay is meh for what is expected of you.

      Cons

everything else, expected to do the job of 2 -3. always understaffed, micro managed, will be transferred to another territory without notice or discussion. will expect you to suck up the extra 2-4 hour drive time and not pay you overtime. The amount of metrics they measure are you kidding me? lots of people leaving and looking to leave.
