    Pros

Great place to gain experience in the servicing industry.

    Cons

Processes are only viewed at high level by management, causing many areas to be understaffed.

    Advice to Management

Open a line of communication with employees. Listen to their suggestions and concerns.

I have been working at GEMSA Loan Services full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Senior managers trust staff, upper managers are promoted internally, great view into commercial real estate

    Cons

Lower pay when compared to energy. Tough to advance. Low growth rate as a business.

    Advice to Management

Get more pay to keep mid level and lower level employees. Cull out malcontent employees-they are cancer.

    Pros

Good experience if you're wanting to learn about the commercial real estate field

    Cons

Pay is underwhelming, as are raises.

    Advice to Management

Provide more money to the lower level positions.

I worked at GEMSA Loan Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company pays well, has adequate training for new employees and expects high standards.

    Cons

There seems to be a high rate of turnover in Dallas. Many of the employees are not up to par regarding their job and have no idea what they are responsible for.

    Advice to Management

Hire compentent staff and make sure everyone knows their job.

I worked at GEMSA Loan Services full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Get hired. Lean a few things. Then look for another job.

    Cons

Senior management are doofs! They promote persons based on the college they went to and their outward appearance. If you went to Texas A&M you will make it here, not matter how dumb you are. Senior management is incompetent and word of caution to new hires! You won’t get promoted unless you “suck up”. Horrible place to work.

    Advice to Management

Realize that persons that did not attend a Texas based college (i.e. Texas A&M) are also smart people

    Pros

    Flexibility
Management does not stand over you
Seasoned co-workers who are experts at their jobs
Good job to have for the industry experience

    Cons

    Friendship has it benefits
Graduates of certain university are preferred and promoted
Poor communication from management; information is shared via office gossiping
Management shares information with their friends instead of maintaining confidentiality
Equal opportunities do not exist for minorities nor women
Hard working employees are overlooked for promotions
Employees are afraid to speak out for fear of retaliation

    Advice to Management

Give your employees the same respect you want
    Be professional
Talk and listen to your employees.

    Pros

The company handles a lot of big clients and assets - its a great place to get your feet wet in commercial real estate.
There are some great, talented people working there.

    Cons

Only former frat boys (or frat boy copy cats) get promoted.
Senior management has no clue who works for them and what people do.
Office politics get in the way of good workers being promoted or retained.

    Advice to Management

Actually hire some of the good temps that work for you instead of replacing them every 6 months. Communication with your employees goes a long way for morale; stop hiding in your offices and talk to people.

    Cons

Training for new employees is almost non-existent
Financial jobs being outsourced to India, something to consider when pursuing entry level jobs in finance

Workers generally keep to themselves, almost like nobody likes each other

    Advice to Management

Data platforms are outdated and there's no defined path for advancement in the company
