I worked at GENBAND full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Talented employees who are knowledgeable and loyal

    Cons

The management team is completely self serving and operates from month to month. If you work at Genband, you are aware of the frequent layoffs. If you are in sales, expect your objectives and compensation to be adjusted quarterly. If you don't enjoy job hunting, don't work for a company like Genband.

    Advice to Management

Take a longer term view of your business. Show loyalty to the hard working employees and talented engineers who have made you successful. Keep staffing lean and utilize contract employees where necessary to avoid the frequent layoffs that Genband is known for; the constant insecure work environment that you are creating is not only bad for moral, but makes hiring new talent difficult.

    Pros

Great place to work because of the people you work with. Cutting edge technology.. Be ready to be challenged and ready to work.

    Cons

Private company who sold their soul to Chase, Very greedy management. Negotiate the salary you feel you can live to the end of your career with because you will not see a cost of living increase. Human Resources is there for the company not the employees.

    Advice to Management

Care about your people, you say you care but us but never show it.

I worked at GENBAND full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Coming into the job market, this place helped prepare me for my future.
If I ever got stuck on a problem, my senior programmer would help me out, however, he helped me by giving me hints in the right direction, not by solving the problem itself.
    Promotion came easily.

    Cons

I was told that this company was based on inspired innovation, however, when I innovated, I was told to go back to my original work.
Takes a long time to move from just fixing bugs to creating new features.
    Low pay.

    Advice to Management

Give your new employees room to grow. Instead of giving them the same task over and over, let them expand their range and find out what they are good at.
