    Pros

    Flexibilite dans le travail. Bons produits et tres bonne equipe, la majeure partie provenant de Nortel. Bon marketing com.

    Cons

    US centric. Pas ou peu de strategie long terme. Developpement des produits tres opportuniste en fonction des deal gagne. Pei de moyen financier pour une strategie long term. Societet drivee par les resultats et la pression du shareholder ( Oneequity)

    Advice to Management

    Build a strong strat plan and ask yourselve where and what you want to be in 5 and 10 years time. Increase flexibility in the sale process: we loose businesses because of our own internal complexity and unflexibility.

    Pros

    Competitive benefits package with plenty of vacation time, managers are very helpful, rewards for high levels of contribution.

    Cons

    Executives need to mingle with employees more and reassure top employees of satisfaction. Job roles are not always clear which does allow more freedom so this can be a pro or a con.

    Advice to Management

    Continue to allow high performing employees to define their role in the company and allow plenty of feedback for growth. Provide reward choices to top employees.

    I worked at GENBAND full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Peers were knowledgeable, nice and helpful. The work was varied allowing for people interaction as well as heads-down deep analysis of the data. Always plenty to get done.

    Cons

    Off-shoring of technical work for save money. Would likely come out ahead to place all of development within a few close time zones than to spread it too far out. Distance and time delays lead to confusion of ownership.

    I have been working at GENBAND full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Starting compensation package for a new graduate is at industry standards
    - A fun place to work, with coworkers who are very nice. You'll make lots of friends here, including good interactions with higher level management people
    - Lots of smart people, who will try their best to help you when you need it
    - free coffee from the coffee machine

    Cons

    - company has struggled in the past, senior engineers are maxed out in terms of workload
    - benefits package could be better compared to other similar companies (size wise)
    - older workforce, although lots of new grads were recently hired to address the issue.
    -Lots of process, it can be annoying, some habits carried over from the nortel days most likely.

    Advice to Management

    My advice, is that think about investing a bit more on the R&D side, bring in some new mid level staff. Rethink all the unnecessary process. Take corporate initiative to get some better standards for documentation and development cycle

    Pros

    Great place to start. They actually let interns to do some real job. Stress free and friendly environment. Flexible with working time and place.

    Cons

    Employees seem to be too comfortable and laid back. If you are not a motivated and self starter you won't learn much.

    Advice to Management

    Hire more young motivated people specially more women.
