I worked at GENCO Distribution System full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Reasonable pay, good benifits, FedEx bought them out, hopefully this will change the management structure for a proactive type of work environment.

    Cons

The Peter principal, exploiting lower management, reactive instead of proactive.

    Advice to Management

You need a paradigm shift in your management structure.

I have been working at GENCO Distribution System

      Pros

They have bathrooms.(But they don't have those hygenic paper toilet seat covers. Theres a holder for them. But none. Those would cost them $. Which would be bad.) A lot of the people hate their job and want to quit so it's a relate-able work environment with your teammates..

      Cons

Where do you even start.. -There's no fans because that would cost Genco $, and they won't keep any empty dock doors open because they're afraid of terrorists(This location ships for Target.com). That means on a hot day, you're sweating buckets. Which is unsafe and lead to dehydration. Which can be deadly. Yet their motto is "safety first". - Ergonomics. No one in this company has heard the word. Things kept under tables(great...

      Advice to Management

If your company is a revolving door of employee's. Think about ways of fixing it. Not carrying on and expecting a different outcome. You need to spend $ to improve working conditions to at least make them standard. And not a sweat shop. Cut back on mandatory overtime. And in general treat employee's and their needs better.

I have been working at GENCO Distribution System

      Pros

I have worked for GENCO for 3 years now and have enjoyed the company. They seem to care about their employees and do their best to foster a positive work environment. Many of the people here are good to work with as well.

      Cons

Limited internal career advancement. They are moving to Cranberry Township soon which will be a further drive for some people currently employed.

      Advice to Management

Help employees develop their careers for growth. Provide some more direction for company growth and employee development.

I worked at GENCO Distribution System full-time

      Pros

Overall it was a good experience working with Genco Unilever. Even though I worked there through Kelly Services, it was a pretty nice work environment. The hourly pay rate was decent.

      Cons

There wasn't many cons working at Genco Unilever. The only thing I didn't like was the 3 point system they have.

I have been working at GENCO Distribution System full-time for less than a year

      Pros

Steady Paycheck, Fast Paced Environment, Decent Work Environment, Some Opportunity for Promotion.

      Cons

Lack of Qualified Leadership, Leadership very Disorganized, Mandatory Overtime without being informed beforehand.

      Advice to Management

My advice is to simply work on your organization skills, reform management especially a lower levels (i.e. Leads, Supervisors). Employees should not feel like their supervisor knows absolutely nothing. Employees should be able to go to their supervisor with a question and get an answer, not "go ask so and so"....
