I worked at GFI Group full-time

    Pros

salary was competitive and my immediate supervisor was amazing in addition to a great working environment on the trading floor

    Cons

the benefits were not cheap and when I was there the company was taken over. The biggest problem was the Executives and board members tried to undercut the shareholders and then when it backfired tried to make it all seem wonderful while leaving everyone in the firm in utter confusion. I didn't trust the upper management anymore so I along with 100s of others chose to leave before it got even worse

    Advice to Management

doesn't matter they were taken over and lost control but with a big payday.. please stay away from firms with actual employees go somewhere and count your money...alone

I have been working at GFI Group full-time

    Pros

There's a lot of great things about working under GFI. Particular, I love my coworkers, the benefits (health, dental, life, commuter discount, company teams, pizza parties) and the area that I work it. I also like that the upper management tries to keep you in the loop of what's going on in the company.

    Cons

Like mentioned in other reviews, salary isn't that great, and upper management seems more concerned about miniscule things, such as making sure you stay the full 8.5 hours a day. I want to say a good portion of my meetings involved matching our timesheets to GFI's timesheet, but nothing was really said or done to fix it.
