I worked at GGP full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Property Accounting Department: I had some amazing and caring and intelligent managers. The culture is a priority. Benefits are good and salary is at market. Hours are reasonable. Atmosphere is laid back and the team is friendly. Technology is up to date.

    Cons

Small scale layoffs are the norm as upper management continues to over and over restructure teams. I don't think they have a clue what they want. Nepotism is a regular occurrence and threatens the department morale. Turnover has gotten out of control in the last year and a half.
CFO and CEO are out of touch and snobby.

I worked at GGP (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The offer a decent salary and benefits.

    Cons

Management is horrible. The company was excellent years and years ago. Greed has taken over. Getting rid of employees who have been loyal to hire younger people for less pay.

I worked at GGP full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There were many opportunities to learn different job functions within the Accounting department. There was always more opportunities to take on responsibilities. The benefits were pretty good with medical, dental, vision, 401k with match and Fooda discounts available.

    Cons

There was very little opportunity to move upward in the department. The impression that I had from management was that staff needed to be reduced through attrition. For every 2 accountants that left the company only 1 was replaced and usually by a new college graduate instead of an experienced accountant.

    Advice to Management

Reduce redundant management at the VP and Director levels. Boost morale and offer more learning opportunities to the employees. Make the data more available to employees for analysis in aid of performing their job duties effectively.

I have been working at GGP full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company has great benefits, they encourage transferring internally, and they are conveniently located downtown near the train stations and L stops.

    Cons

There is always movement of responsibilities from team to team, creating disruption in work flow and frustration. There is a lack of cohesive vision from management and a lack of communication that make changes much more difficult than they have to be.
