I have been working at GGP (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Smaller field teams allow for a more personal and productive work environment, great benefits, lots of company perks, pays seems high for this market; very accommodating for children/family/personal scheduling needs.

    Cons

Too many different software programs to work within, as well as changes to new software programs; Distribution of procedures could definitely be better on the corporate end.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work.

    Pros

High energy and progressive management. Employees feel respected with an open-door policy to management. Employee feedback is encouraged. Fair compensation and benefits are good. Subsidized lunch program is an amazing perk.

    Cons

Honestly, I can think of no cons.

    Cons

Senior executives micro manage the executive team and frequently change strategies. Impatient, appear to be in the game for the short term.

I worked at GGP full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Pays their employees on time and has great benefits. Most of the employees left are good people but the executive team cuts its way to Wall Street win

    Cons

Very unfulfilling company to work for and the industry as a whole. There is very little autonomy, creativity and growth. Work people to death over things that wont matter. Micromanage to the end result of nothing but boring malls with boring retail

    Advice to Management

Start caring about the people who make your buildings stay open.

I worked at GGP (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good work/life balance. No one really works too many hours.

    Cons

Where do I begin? It is a pretty toxic-feeling work environment. Constant fire drills to be performed for a field of far-too-many middle management types. Aloof, reclusive, condescending, and rude executive team (mostly in development department, but seemingly across the board), mediocre pay (no one is getting rich working there, let me tell you), a fear-based management system, a drab beige cubicle farm of an office, very limited upward mobility (it makes me sad thinking about all of the older people who have been in their same jobs here for decades!)

    Advice to Management

Try just once to connect with the people that work for you. You may be surprised to learn what they think. There are many smart and talented people working at GGP, which you may notice if you paid any attention to anyone outside of the C-suite. Also, the "culture" that you are attempting to force on the company is somewhat of a sham, though it makes for a nice laughing stock at happy hour!

I have been working at GGP full-time

    Pros

Great Benefits for all employees and pay is ok

    Cons

Constantly staying busying with the amount of tenants in your portfolio, but it all equals out.

    Advice to Management

Increase the number of PTO hours per pay period

    Pros

Quiet, pleasant work space. Work pace not demanding.

    Cons

Demeaning, unhelpful co-workers mostly shun newcomers. Supervisory team made up of terrible communicators -- willing to sandbag employees rather than discuss concerns. Poor training procedure for ridiculously outmoded web updating process ("Just keep pressing 'Save' until the update goes through"). Web content work is incredibly boring and more than a little pointless.

    Advice to Management

Fix your processes and training procedures. Develop a web strategy.

    Pros

Nice environment, nice people to work with. Accounting department is big enough for career learning and advancement.

    Cons

Too much changes and the changes are too often. The management team often has unreasonable demands.

    Advice to Management

    They will not listen.
