    Pros

Commute, Gym, Cafeteria and of course good looking mostly empty building

    Cons

No future to this company. IBM employees who came on board makes more money than veteran employees here. If you are applying for S/W engineering position in certain divisions, you are wasting your time. Especially in IT,CIM,MT.

    Advice to Management

just sell this company to Chinese and get some change.

I have been working at GLOBALFOUNDRIES full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

State where factory is located. If you enjoy watching high turn overs, this is the employer. Great cafeteria also! If you are able to take advantage of the Relo, by all means do it and leave.

    Cons

Unfortunately, there is racism and xenophobia. The company will ask you to confidential information from your previous employer if it happens to be one of their customers or competitors.

Strangely, the Heath and drug screening requires you to be exposed to sexual harassment and professionals more interested in your sexual history and genital endowment rather than controlled substances.

    Advice to Management

Be honest! If you knowingly illegal, unethical actions l, resign or just say no.

    Pros

There are a lot of opportunities for young engineers that you cannot get at older, established companies. The industry is fast paced and will never leave you bored.

    Cons

Bogged down with procedural red tape. The job requires very high commitment level with little recognition. Engineers required to be on call at all times.

    Advice to Management

Focus on your employees, help them to succeed and you will succeed as well. Ask your employees how their non value added time is spent and begin cutting back the red tape that holds them back.

I worked at GLOBALFOUNDRIES full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

In the beginning when the company was launched in 2009 there was a lot of hope and promise. Big dreams and big claims about shaking up the industry and taking on the market leader. There was a ton of investment and the start-up atmosphere was great.

    Cons

Too many major changes to the company's vision and focus. The company has seen three CEO transitions since launching in 2009 with lots of turn over within the executive ranks. Shifting goals and priorities created a lot confusion and doubt. Despite claims to the contrary by ownership, the latest CEO seems to have been brought in to sell the company and help get the owners out of a bad investment.

    Advice to Management

Do not try to be all things to all customers. Focus on what you think the company can do better than anyone else in the market and stick to it come hell or high water.

    Pros

Working with latest technology. Nice cafeteria. Still new environment (chairs, desks, tables, etc)

    Cons

Many managers lack technical skills then they are not able to make any decisions. They pay more attention who talks better and which power point looks nicer. Paying attention to the format and not to the content.
Very chaotic due to the lack of leadership
