I worked at GNC part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people, and a real chance to help others if you know your stuff and actually workout.

    Cons

A lot of people will just try to push products on you without any real workout knowledge or without even using workout supplements themselves.

    Advice to Management

Hire people that look the part

I worked at GNC full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great customers and great quality products... Many opportunities to be promoted and lots of on the job training! Truly a job where you essentially write your own paycheck based on the commission structure!

    Cons

Company does not appreciate its employees and does not appropriately reward their hard work and effort... I was ranked 15th out of 1000 employees in my region but never had any recognition whatsoever... definitely disappointing but still a job I enjoyed...

I have been working at GNC full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Laid back work environment, flexible, easy job, learn sales and retail, learn operations of a small business,

    Cons

Upper management is very hard on you when you don't hit numbers they want you to hit they will look for ways to fire you. You work alone a lot of the time. The extra money you can earn has gone down significantly, people will dodge small sales

    Advice to Management

our numbers should not be a prime indicator as to how good we are at our job, small sales shouldn't count against our average, we need way more money for what we actually have to do as managers most store have people to do their shipment specifically or to do certain tasks specifically while we are left all alone to carry out duties at a lower rate than most general managers

I have been working at GNC full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Fairly easy job, sometimes flexible schedule, great discounts on supplements. Would be a great job and work environment if the pay was better.

    Cons

Possibly the lowest paying job I've ever held. Even with commission added to pay. Hours can usually be good unless something comes up at the last second and corporate is very good at that; subjecting you to change your schedule at the last moment.
