Learning to Change
Jun 15, 2017 - Senior Project Manager in Dearborn Heights, MIRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The Work Life Balance has always been a benefit to my position @ GTB. Managers have understood some of the accommodations that need to be made for parents. Family events like Spooktacular and Take your child to work day have always been highlights for my kids to participate in. GTB does some pretty creative work for their clients and the teams I've worked with really do their best to deliver great work.
Cons
Moral isn't at it's best right now because changes have needed to be made. Whether those changes are really for business reasons is yet to be seen. The only way to get a good salary is to leave for a couple years and come back. Loyal employees aren't compensated for their perseverance.

It's Advertising
Sep 29, 2010 - Junior Project Manager in Dearborn, MIRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Large company to network with individuals and work for big name clients. Room for advancement, but doesn't happen yearly. There is job security and the business is trying to grow out of the automotive field. Very laid back atmosphere and you have opportunities to move within the company. Team Detroit brings in extra activities and fun things to do besides just work
Cons
You won't make a lot, but that's not why you are in advertising. Sometimes you work with people that you won't understand how they got to where they are. You become satisfied and forget about your future career. The OTL is expensive, bring your own lunch.

Pros
Great time off for company Holidays, they offer activities in the office: Bagel Mondays, Spooktacular, Holiday Bazaar and more. Ability to volunteer for causes you believe in for 2 days each year. 10 sick days, 3 personal days + vacation time off. Offering a 401K, health insurance 3 different providers. Friendly atmosphere, ability to grow if you are willing to put yourself out there and ask management. Flexibility with your personal managers. Facilities workers are super nice. Location, near mall and great food down the road. We have a coffee store on site and cafeteria. We also have food trucks that come to the Dearborn location.
Cons
Process for promotions take awhile. Training from team to team varies in style. Rooms are not very clear on location.

Good company, but could do better
Jun 3, 2015 - Project Manager in Dearborn, MIRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Good work atmosphere, good work/life balance, summer Fridays, bands stop by to jam, good facilities
Cons
Some of the MP's are more authoritarian than they need to be, and that is causing some churn in the ranks at certain jobs. Also, there is too much hiring from the outside for more senior positions as opposed to promoting form within. People need to know there is a career path for then and that there is opportunity.

For an advertising, it's decent
Nov 11, 2016 - Junior Project Manager in Sterling Heights, MIRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Big agency feel with a fun environment full of pool tables, ping pong matches, in house concerts, yoga classes and an actual in house restraunt. Besides the "cool" culture, it's a good place to get experience. Big teams mean big support. They also pay for the majority of schooling after a certain amount of time and management does care about your career path.
Cons
Being that the advertising industry is so unstable, at Team Detroit it's no different. When companies struggle, they cut advertising budgets so beware of random layoffs. Also, for such a big agency, proccesses and procedures aren't in place very well. Often times you could work long hours just to clean up the mess that having no structure causes.
