    I have been working at Gabe’s full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    It is a great place to work . Yes it is hard at times and you put in allot of hours . But it is so worth it the employees in the store are an extension of my family . Great discount just a great company to work for . Which is not found in retail anymore . There is a work life balance for everyone .

    Cons

    Long hours but that is to be expected in retail .

    Treat managers as expendables.

    Advice to Management

    Treat associates better. Train better and you will have commitment from all.

    Pros

    Nice employee discount
    I love their clothing and shoes selection
    Good part time job
    Customer service job where you interact with people in your community

    Cons

    Minimum wage pay
    Overworked when store is short staffed
    Staff the store effectively so employees are not overworked and treated unfairly

    Advice to Management

    Pay your employees well for the work that they do.

    Friendly fellow employees. Upbeat environment to work in.

    Cons

    Pay scale, even for full time, is terrible.

    Advice to Management

    This advice is more for corporate, please increase pay. There are so many companies out there that have such higher pay rates. This is a great place to work, but pay is definitely a huge factor for most employees.

    I have been working at Gabe’s part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great people to work with. Great store and wonderful products.

    Cons

    The Beavercreek store needs new management, they know not what they do.

    Advice to Management

    Value the workers you have . Promote the people that work hard fire the ones that wont.

    Pros

    They dont require prior work or retail experience, Friendly co-workers and atmosphere, There's opportunity for advancement, the work is relatively easy

    Cons

    They lack correct training and management doesn't follow up on this. Non competitive wages, no merit raises. Your not recognized for exemplary work. They don't follow company protocol across the board, upper management plays favorites.

    Great people to work with
    You can get promoted quickly
    The work is very easy to do, great company to work for whenever your looking for something easy to do

    Cons

    So far since I've been working for the company I haven't had an problems (cons) to even state for the cons section

    I worked at Gabe’s (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    As a GM you only close one night a week and work one Sunday a month. The floor plans are general enough that you can make decisions to get the freight on the sales floor each day.

    Cons

    The directions change a lot. What's important today may not even be on the radar next week. The merchandising stratagies changing is confusing to the hourly employees and that makes it tougher to enforce. They say they need managers for expansion but have let several go recently for vague reasons. When the family still owned the company they cared about their employees, especially the store management.

    Advice to Management

    More standardized requirements for management and stay away from the, "that looks good" or "that looks bad" types of reviews.

    Pros

    Your team becomes close and work well together because of all the time you are at the stores.

    Cons

    Extremely long hours. A lot of different direction from all levels and departments. Utilize salaried team as major payroll for projects. Change policy to suit the situation to benefit company. No integrity at corporate level.

    Don't let your guard down CYA at all times.

    Hands on, full time, close group of people, decent company, insurance benefits

    Cons

    Not much room to advance up, very small help desk, 2 people taking calls per shift, sometimes 1 person taking calls, management doesn't communicate to you much
