Works great with your schedule. Great place to work. Wayne Johnson is a great boss wonderful to work for.

    Cons

    Advice to Management

I worked at Gabe’s (Less than a year)

    Pros

This work place had a great crew. Motivated, friendly and focused staff. I enjoyed working at this warehouse and would like to return.

    Cons

I only had one complaint while working there...the building was extremely hot.

    Advice to Management

I have no advice. I feel as though they ran things to the best of their ability.

    Cons

expectations do not align with reality, not enough payroll, thrifty taken too far

    Advice to Management

need to spend some time in the stores and listen to customers and associates, spend a week in a local store and see what the reality is really like

    I worked at Gabe’s full-time

    Pros

Typical retail environment, decent pay when hrs are kept in line

    Cons

Store mgmt is not professional or always truthful. Store will continue downward spiral with this one in place.

    Advice to Management

Advanced throughout the company and worked for both Rugged Wearhouse and Gabes for 14 years. Enjoyed the management (for the most part), challenging expectations, and rewards. Often they expect you to run a store with half to basically no coverage. Upper new management plays favoritism and strives to appear overqualified and knowledgeable, when in reality far from the truth. Generally this is a good company to work for and I would recommend it, but one bad apple can spoil the whole bunch.

    I worked at Gabe’s full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

None whatsoever, there's a culture of "well, be lucky that you have a job"

    Cons

Every single position in the IT department is underpaid by 40% (and that's based on the WV average). Upper management is incompetent (the CIO can't tell the difference between new and used toner, has no idea what waterfall development even is), middle management has no power, the workload is too high and hard efforts go unrewarded and unnoticed.

The department is far too small and far too underskilled to support a company the size of Gabe's. Not only that, they will expect you to work weeks of overtime (Without being compensated for it, they will take days off of the following weeks instead) or weekend/nights for the higher level positions. As a holiday bonus for performing well, we legitimately received a McDonald's Arch Card (valued at $10) - what a joke.

There are some smart people in the department but they all feel like they fell into a sinkhole and got trapped there for 5+ years. Avoid this company at all costs if you are in IT. It is the worst possible employer you could find.

    Advice to Management

    Value your employees
