I worked at Gala Coral Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

*Pays under 25s the same wage as everyone else.
    *60% discount on diner food.
*Reasonably laid back atmosphere, when not busy with customers.
*5 weeks holiday per annum, decent pay.
    *Child-friendly hours, potentially.
*Day to day variation: different shifts are often on different departments.
*Management training course for those who want it.

    Cons

    *Minimum wage.
    *Customers can be arrogant/rude.
*Double-shift days are long and the hours unsociable. Full-time hours means it's difficult to have a life outside of work.
    *Understaffed shifts are not uncommon.
*Upper level management can be out of touch with their new policies.

    Advice to Management

The people who work face to face with the customers have a good idea of what Gala can do to maximise its potential. Head Office needs to take advice from the ground level and please please please stop creating policies that add extra unnecessary work.
