I worked at Galderma Laboratories full-time

    Pros

Competitive salary, great benefits, great products

    Cons

This is a short sighted company. The A&C department is a disaster. If you like your job and want to keep it, this is not a good place. Major layoffs across the board.

    Advice to Management

This was a much better company when Todd Zavodnick was in charge. This management team has no creativity to solve problems.

    Pros

There are no pros to working here.

    Cons

Indecisive management, especially in Sophia. My manager was vindictive and listened to office gossip before making a decision.

    Advice to Management

    Treat your employees better.

I worked at Galderma Laboratories full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Free parking, good benefits, company store

    Cons

There has been a mass wave of Alcon employees hired into the home office over the last 3 years. The common phrase to hear is 'at Alcon we did...'. There have been many open positions where a person has been hand picked from Alcon to interview before the job is even posted. This has lead to various Alcon cliques within the company, and is affecting employee morale. Former Alcon employees are being hired at higher pay levels then long-term existing employees with the same experience.

    Advice to Management

Diversify your hiring to bring in fresh ideas.

I worked at Galderma Laboratories full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pipeline/Growth potential/internal marketing resources gaining strength

    Cons

Lack of training budget; Very politically-driven; inexperienced and ineffective leadership team in A&C division. Short-sighted sales culture vs healthy long-term sustainable growth. Beyond questionable corporate ethics and values. Poor work-life balance.

    Advice to Management

High turnover of sales team should be a clue that the current sales model and leadership effectiveness is poor. Listen to the territory experts and key customers before making decisions that affect long term business growth/sustainability. Prediction: Whistleblower lawsuit waiting to happen, if not already.

    Pros

Quality Products. Great matrix team approach - I worked in the Princeton NJ Office but worked closely with headquarters in France. Excellent salary and benefit package! Managers who listen and encourage thinking outside the box. Fast-paced and great colleagues to work with.

    Cons

Difficulty in sometimes getting France Headquarters to understand US ways - i.e. how telecommuting is so commonplace in the US and especially in the Pharma mecca of the NY/NJ/Philadelphia area.

    Advice to Management

Continue to reward and retain your top-notch talent.

I worked at Galderma Laboratories full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Company with a strong history in dermatology and great relationships with health care providers. Benefits are good.

    Cons

It's a stressful environment at corporate. Branded pharmaceuticals have gotten squeezed in recent years and self med hasn't taken off yet.

    Advice to Management

Become more realistic with targets and spread bonuses lower in the organization.
