I have been working at Galderma full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Products that are well respected. Wonderful healthcare and retirement benefits. One business unit (of 3) shows strong growth, second shows decent prospects.

    Cons

Systems and processes don't exist. Lack of business maturity in every sense. Micromanagement and little tolerance for the facts. Owned by Nestle but little integration or adoption of Nestle best practices. One business unit in sharp decline with unclear future.

    Advice to Management

Focus on long term growth and not just landing the current month. Short term focus leads to churn, poor decision making and mistakes being repeated.

I worked at Galderma full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    The benefits are above average.

    Cons

Nestle, who owns Galderma, continues to play a larger and larger role. Their processes take up 30% of your time but don't appear to drive any real value. Meetings around these processes have the feel of employees merely "checking a box" to say they are done as to not upset Nestle.

Culture is pretty brutal. In the short time I was there I didn't really meet anyone that actually liked being there.

    Advice to Management

You will continue to lose people so as long the culture is poor.

I have been working at Galderma full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Compensation and benefits are very good. Nestle appears to be committed to long term investment in skin health with Galderma and integration of the proactive company. Opportunities to work in 3 very different business units.

    Cons

Huge growth expectations without justifiable innovation or investment. Conservative regulatory and compliance groups restricts marketing and sales capabilities. Increasingly hierarchical structure with poor corporate direction clarity from management.

    Advice to Management

Greater need for Sr. leadership to provide clear corporate direction as well as investment of their time to understand the nuances of the marketplaces in which they compete to accurately set budgets and margin expectations.

    Pros

Great benefits, nice place to work.

    Cons

Very disorganized, no one wants to help train. Zero on boarding, sink or swim.

    Advice to Management

Create more organization and training as well as structure. No one knows what is going on, no accountability.

I worked at Galderma full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Salary is competitive
Bonus is difficult to navigate but fair
Product line is best in industry
Reputation is well known and respected industry

    Cons

    Micromanagement
    Lack of Leadership
    Skepticism/doubt part of management culture
Unprofessional environment. Encouraged to do whatever it takes and then some.

    Advice to Management

Lack of leadership under new management. Indecisiveness and a lack of confidence plagues Chicago's leadership team. Show some maturity and independence from group thinking. Follow the unbeaten path, perhaps that is where future success will be found. Until then, expecting new results with the same processes will get you nowhere.
