    Terrible place to work

    Dec 2, 2022 - Claims

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Remote work is all they have going for them at this point.

    Cons

-Dont be fooled. The "GB Family" does not exist. It's just company propaganda. -The claims system is antiquated and cumbersome. It takes 4 different systems just to make and document a reserve change. This makes training new hires almost impossible -The demand to comply with matrics starts when someone is hired and if they can't keep up, Supervisors are expected to do the work for their team even if there are existing overdue items -No internet reimbursement -Everything from emails to daily production is treated as an emergency. Everything is expected to be completed now. And when it's not, questions are asked why they haven't been done, even it's normal to receive between 150-200 PER DAY -Leadership has questionable ethics and seems to not understand what is going on at the field level -They only contribute to the 401k match at then end of the year. They do this so they don't have to pay employees that leave mid year

    No. Stop. Don't.

Oct 17, 2022 - Senior Claim Resolution Manager in Mechanicsburg, PA
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

In-house management is very understanding, personable, and flexible. Seems diverse enough and the pay is excellent. Management is aware the job is tough and they need people to stay and try to keep them as long as the employee can tolerate the job. The money is great if you're coming from a place where you were making significantly.

    Cons

Outdated, ancient claims system, lack of training, and the company reeks of corporate greed - the claims department is not staffed to handle the volume of claims received. Turnover is super high and the claims process is unrealistic, redundant, and inefficient. They don't seem to care and put up with it. They offer $2500 bonus referrals and I could not in good conscience recommend a friend to work here. This position started smoothly for the first 2 months and then in the third month, they couldn't hide it anymore - WARNING: A complete bait and switch. Be careful working here because there is a concern about your licenses being jeopardized because of a lack of training, high volume, and poor guidance.

Temporary answer but by no means your career location.

    Dec 1, 2022 -  in Carrollton, TX

    Pros

The company is remote but you will see this is bittersweet because what's the difference between remote and isolation: the environment.

    Cons

Managers don't know the basic claims laws and practices. They only grade based off exact template and not quality of the file and promote only based metrics which grade your ability to input a note versus moving the file forward. Managers will yell and cuss at you in meetings and you are expected to respond professionally and if you still somehow do well, they will not allow you to move to a new branch but will hire new people with limited experience and pay them more. ...but don't worry, you'll train them to be your manager.

Salaries - very hard to get raises, depending on the office - growth can be difficult, the many different systems used for storing documents, processing documents, certificates and marketing.

    Pros

-Some nice people -headquarters is pretty

    Cons

It was a very culty environment, where favoritism was heavily applied. The talent leader at the time embarrassingly showed favoritism to the Gallagher family members throughout the GCAP program and dismissed others that he didn't consider were of importance. Gallagher's got talent was a way for leaders at Gallagher to belittle the new grads hired out of college by giving harsh feedback and having unrealistic expectations in regards to goal setting. I've conversed with other people my age in sales positions and no one has experienced something similar to the internal competition Gallagher made us all go through. Would not recommend working here.

Ample opportunities for mentorship and solution focused collaboration. The Gallagher Way is taken seriously and most really do try to do the right thing. There is constant improvements and efficiencies- and they just added four weeks of parental leave to their benefit package!

    Cons

Changes to bonus structure is disappointing, especially during times of tough turnover.
