I worked at Gallagher full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Flex time, pay, insurance benefits.

    Cons

Poor Management, call volume, hostile work environment, low moral, no chance for advancement

    Advice to Management

Instead of doing absolutely nothing and eating Chinese food on Wednesdays, how about you give raises and stop making bonuses impossible to achieve. Also when several people make a complaint about a certain supervisor instead of moving that supervisor to a position that literally doesn't exist other than keep her on the team, how about actually addressing the issues that employee has had with that supervisor and... taking proper action whether it be disciplinary or terminating that supervisor. Stop "rewarding" employees with fattening half eaten left overs and start showing actual appreciation for your hard working employees.

I have been working at Gallagher full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Flexible, family-friendly, ethical, supportive work environment.

    Cons

There are so many ways to be involved with various initiatives in our office and among the community that it's easy to stretch yourself too thin.

I have been working at Gallagher full-time

    Pros

You get a paycheck to pay your bills

    Cons

I am extremely underpaid (my salary is not at all market competitive), terrible benefits, PTO is a joke, no career opportunities, a lot of BS work to keep you busy. I have honestly not learned a single new skill that I can show off to my next employer..., lack of diversity (don't let the images online trick you - everyone is White), bonus pay is a joke (I am pretty much taking a pay CUT this year), toxic work... environment.

I worked at Gallagher full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Offer pretty good employee benefits.

    Cons

Bad work environment. Lots of bickering and tantrums in the office.

    Advice to Management

Maybe spend a little more time on team building and cut down on gossip, which contributed to the hostile environment.

I have been working at Gallagher full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Professional work environment, high standards for customer service.

    Cons

Deadlines are intense, workload often too high, salaries too low, Benefits are not that great (high employee-paid portion of premium, high deductible, lots of out-of-pocket expenses). Too much nepotism. Hard to move ahead from account manager position. Producer grooming/training program missing.

    Advice to Management

Train your supervisors and managers and producers on how to get the best out of your people. Be ethical and consistent with your staff. Don't let your employees go backwards financially, at least give raises that keep up with the cost of living. Be competitive with your benefits package, check on what your competitors are offering their employees. Provide a career path for account managers.

I worked at Gallagher full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The Company is likable enough and has some talented people. It is also successful.

    Cons

The company lacks camaraderie and atmosphere and is a dull work environment. They do not believe in giving pay raises and promotions which results in huge staff turnover and a flight of talent. The path to promotion can be blocked by managers who play favorites and promote their favorites instead of basing such decisions on ability or merit. Technological advancement may result in your job function largely being... performed by someone located in a Service Center in India.

    Advice to Management

Clients want consistency. You cannot create a Company Culture with an underpaid staff whose basic needs are not being met. Please care as much about people as you do about numbers.
