    Pros

They will throw training at you whether or not you need it so to gain skills they're good unless you're below management level in which case you've no chance. Money is ok about on par with most.

    Cons

Extremely unhelpful when it comes to help with on site decision making, I've known site managers struggle to make decisions they should NOT be making and only got through the problem because they are well versed in the "Galliford Way". If you are looking for long term employment then look elsewhere these really aren't for you.

    Advice to Management

Upper management HAS to start listening and getting involved with their site TEAM not just manager but all of us who work on site and that way you'll find these problems before they arise and workarounds can be thought of before its too late as normal, also start building roads and sewers BEFORE you get your eyes on the prize and put a full house up and leave everyone to work on an uneven and highly dangerous site.

    Pros

Great company to work for if you are coming to them through an agency, on a short term basis.
They much prefer agency staff, and will ensure much improved conditions over their full time staff.

    Cons

Not a good company to work for as full time staff, long un-rewarded hours, bonuses mainly go to agency staff. They do not believe in training employees, but are more than happy to lavish any amount of training on agency staff.
Graduates are very badly treated, most will have to leave if they wish to finish any sort of training programme.
    Very poor HR

    Advice to Management

Difficult as most management are Agency,up to and including Directors. Please don't discriminate against full time staff, graduates are not just a cheap resource to be used, but the future of your industry.

    Pros

If you have a operational construction or housebuilding job then career development is good. The IT infrastructure has had significant investment and is starting to make a difference.
The company goes from strength to strength and is a great company to have on your CV.

    Cons

If your job is more niche, there isn't much opportunity for development. There are online tutorials available for everyone to access but this will not help you reach your longterm goals.
The nature of the business has become more cutthroat and this may not suit everyone.

    Advice to Management

The group has consistently performed well in a challenging market and PLC have received bonuses to match - just refer to the annual report. However, excuses are always made when bonuses are awarded to the wider group.
