I have been working at GameStop full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Very keen on developing management team to their full potential
    - Provides support and allows for management to cater to customers need
    - Vacation, benefits and yearly conference for Store Managers
    - There is now a clear and concise line of communication from corporate, field management and stores.

    Cons

    - Strict performance driven model can cause some to manage to a percentage and neglect the customer experience.

    - Due to GameStop's drastic cultural change over the last year, there are still many people in all levels which are "stuck in the past". GameStop has done a great job at pushing out some of those who refuse to change, however, a few have stuck. In all, this company is NOT the same GameStop from 2009. It has changed. The atmosphere and work environment has done a 180.

I worked at GameStop part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great group of people to work with and enjoyed the benefits. Flexible hours and fun. Can't ask for much more in sales position.

    Cons

Not a lot bad. Customer service is rough when you're alone and it can get super busy at times, but it helps you grow and gets some great experiences.

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up.

    Pros

    -Check out games
    - The two I have worked at I have great management.
    - Do your job well and you will be rewarded
    - Co-Workers are great and so are customers
    - Dress is very relaxed

    Cons

-low hours when your a Game Advisor
-Lines get long due to stores only having two registers
    -some customers are idiots

    Advice to Management

Figure out a way to allow your GA's to work more than a 3 or 4 hour shift as it is hard to stick with a job that has such short shifts. Having few hours is not a problem, Just work two jobs.
