Great Place for the Right Person

    Pros

I just left Gametime, and it was a really nice place to work…it just wasn’t for me. Most of the people in charge try very hard to set everyone up for success, and Leads are always there to assist - especially for difficult situations. There is a lot of growth and there are probably a lot of opportunities for the right candidates. Benefits are great. Working from home is really nice.

    Cons

It was fine…it just wasn’t for me. There are a lot of metrics (as other people have said) and sometimes the expectations from the results of the metrics can be confusing. It’s probably due to the recent rapid growth, so the confusion will probably get sorted out soon. I like clear expectations, but for someone who can shake off the confusion, this is a great opportunity.

    Great place to work

    Pros

The company believes in autonomy and has a great work life balance along with being full remote

    Cons

The company lacks a cohesive long term vision for where the company should head. Covid took a toll on the company but we are up a lot verse where we were before Covid.

Great place to grow as an engineer

    Pros

People in engineering are great - very friendly and easy to get along with. Got along well with my manager and my coworkers, did happy hours and lunches. You'll get a lot of pretty hefty opportunities and responsibilities as an early-career engineer. Great learning environment and great communication within engineering. Executive team, especially Brad, truly believes in and loves the product and it shows.

    Cons

When I was there, the communication from the executive team to us in engineering was pretty dismal and we had many surprises thrown our way. Engineering sometimes felt like a second-class department. At one point there was a weak attempt at increasing diversity and inclusion but it was never taken seriously, and while this is the case at most tech companies, it's not an excuse. In the company as a whole, there were remnants of a bro-y culture, but that has much improved over the years (and it isn't nearly as bad as some other tech companies). Pay was average to slightly below-average, but not bad. No 401k match.
