Mar 20, 2023 - McNair Scholar in Erie, PARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
You can help McNair Scholars in everything, from organizing seminars to working on projects, to scheduling tutors for them. It is a great learning opportunity.
Cons
No cons as such I remember.

Very hands-off culture, good benefits
Mar 19, 2023 - Assistant Professor in Erie, PARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
If hands-off is your thing, Gannon is for you. The benefits package is phenomenal.
Cons
You can definitely get lost in the mix if you are not experienced with navigating the red tape of academia. Also, my raise was just 1% because we hired new DEI staff.

Pros
Great place to work for!
Cons
Erie is a small city, but there is still a lot to do.

Teaching -rack Life
Sep 18, 2022 - Assistant Teaching PRofessor in Erie, PARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Very welcoming environment, my department has been patient and supportive as I've transitioned into my role and I find the relationship with the students to be valued by a majority of faculty and staff here. Many faculty memebers seem open to improvement across the board so I've found that helpful.
Cons
There is something to be said about having a tight group or community and what it does for generating new ideas and appealing to what students want AND need. Working here has led me to believe that many students don't know exactly what is out there waiting for them and having faculty who are at least semi-active in their respective fields would potentially change this for the better. The shaping of this institutions path forward will be limited by the imagination of all these professionals who have not strayed far from the region or been back in the field for some time. Only real con of working here thus far is this updating will take a great deal of time and convincing mixed with what could be years of admin planning.

Would highly recommend passing on all opportunities at Gannon at the moment.
Aug 26, 2022 - Assistant Director in Erie, PARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Overall community is welcoming, student body is great, location is excellent.
Cons
Middle leadership is pathetic at best. Everything is determined by how good of friends you are with someone, who you know & who you’re related too. Those who are willing to work hard are exploited, and those who are more interested in appearing busy and brown-nosing are rewarded.
