I worked at Gap Inc. for less than a year

    Pros

This is not your average retail firm, because GAP and their respective products are on the upper end of the industry. Go visit the building and you can see why. Everything they do is first class. The IT BI team I worked with was fun to work with and very supportive. I got along with with my team members and they were always more than willing to lend a helping hand. I can tell you from personal experience, this type of...

    Cons

There were some changes within IT and the Business Intelligence area, which caused some level of concern. I know that people in the Pleasanton office were laid off. Looking back I should have probably stuck it out, but those pesky recruiters are always harassing you with new job opportunities to pull you away from your current assignment.

    Advice to Management

Keep promoting the strong cultural values Gap is known for, and recognize the achievements of the company's star performers.

I worked at Gap Inc. full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good pay, co workers on my team were great to work with.

    Cons

The payables leadership at the CSSC (non operational) is the worst leadership in the state.

I worked at Gap Inc. full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Awesome employee discounts, up to 50% for Gap and Old Navy

    Cons

    - Toxic leadership - Non-manager employees are treated like children - Contractors are treated worse

    Advice to Management

    - Stop hiring managers from the big four or from failed departments of large companies (Yahoo infosec) - Make your employee satisfaction more of a focus if not the main focus of your management - Make empathy/compassion a non-negotiable in hiring managers or those aspiring to manage

Great place to get into a rhythm, put your time in, and collect a paycheck.

I have been working at Gap Inc. full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Occasionally the work life balance is nice Pay is decent (but there's not much growth so you might be stuck with the same salary for a while) It's a known company so a resume booster as long as you don't become complacent and stay too long Nice location with ocean view

    Cons

Tools are archaic and manual (it's not uncommon to spend 2+ hours a week for IT support) Corporate environment where you're expected to lick the ground anyone who's a manager or senior level walks on The company is VERY resistant to change--there's no desire to make things efficient and people are TOO okay with tedious work (in some way, I believe this gives people job stability) Prone to layoffs with how bad the...

I have been working at Gap Inc. for more than a year

    Pros

The job and it's scope are laid out and clear. There is plenty of information once you learn how to utilise it efficiently

    Cons

Don't let the fake reviews created by management fool You. You will be a 2 year contractor and at the end of 730 days your out. no exceptions for anyone. I have seen the hardest working and most dedicated employees time and time again leave. Fulltime positions are only given to lovers, and friends of those in charge. It's all favoritism to a extreme. Come into this job if your dating someone or want to date someone...
