I have been working at Gap Inc. full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Peers and subordinates are awesome! Everyone is like family! The pay structure and vacation allowance are best in show

      Cons

Art Peck has run this company and it’s people into the ground. Gap Inc has lost its luster due in large part because they wish to do the same things they’ve always done. Advice to Management

Stop churning and burning employees it’s not who you are! And be more respectful of your leaders as they are trying to grow your business. You’re laying off in the Chicago market so I assume my feelings have already fallen on death ears...

      Pros

Awesome time off for full time people great discount across all brands good benefits

      Cons

If you like folding clothes all day even as a manager then this is the job for you Times have changed, lack of sales associates too, fitting room gets a mess with customers and managers have to pick up Even if policy states one thing we always take care of the customers, you really cant say no, some customers know it and take advantage of it, its hard if you came from the outside where they protect the sales and follow...

      Advice to Management

Care about the customer but stand up to your policies/employees in place so the stores and company can make money, customers are taking advantage of it even with the generous return policy of 90 days/etc. its really ok to say no sometimes otherwise just take the dates off of coupons and get rid of the return policy

      Pros

great work life balance. ins store moral is great. great discount

      Cons

Too much focus on credit cards and not enough focus on customer service.

      Advice to Management

You have to go back of the old model of having multiple manager you are burning out the few managers you have left. When you threaten you staff and leaders with corrective actions just for not getting GCs that does not motivate them to get GCs it just motivates them to leave the comapny
