I worked at Gap part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Management was very personable, never made associates feel like they were subordinate. Lots of incentives to do good work, and helpful when you had questions or weren't sure how to solve a new problem.

    Cons

Sometimes weird hours, my store was very large so shipment shifts could often go overnight. This can be easily fixed by simply saying you won't work overnight shifts, but just be aware that some hours can be very late.

    Advice to Management

Find ways to boost morale during overnight shipment shifts

    I worked at Gap full-time

    Pros

Opportunity for upward mobility , great people to work with

    Cons

Employees are not reprimanded even for no call/no show shifts, those who are responsible and reliable are not given incentives

    Advice to Management

INVOLE YOUR SALES ASSOCIATES. They frequently have great ideas and valuable feedback. Find a way to communicate with them in a nonjudgmental manner that encourages them to use their voices with both immediate supervisors and regional managers.

    Pros

build up my work environment experiences and discover community. I am strong free spirit woman so I am getting along almost with everybody. I love being in working space. I can work in long pace with repeating tasks.

    Cons

Deal with co worker's issue that is not relevant in work. Moods from others can be ripple waves to anyone. I know how to draw line away but I might will need to calm them myself, I can help.

    Advice to Management

One advantage for me being work for you is knowing sign language. :)

I worked at Gap part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You got points for opening Gap cards and they can work with your schedule for the most part

    Cons

The managers play favorites and you need to have more than 20 hours of availability throughout the week which is hard for people going to school. Very strict about how many hours you can consecutively work. Prided themselves on paying more than minimum wage but they do not. If you didn't open up that many cards then you didn't get that many hours (unless they liked you); but if you are on the sales floor it is inherently harder to get cards so it is an endless cycle

    Advice to Management

    Don't play favorites!

    Nice relaxed environment
    Lots of it funding
    Knowledgeable workforce
    Capable management
Adheres to employment norms quite nicely
Proximity to SFO and bay area

    Cons

Nosy employees from the non it sector
Direction less upper management in it
Never follow up after an employee has left
Did not receive the experience certificate when contacted after three years of termination of employment

    Advice to Management

Don't do micromanagement, try to operate at a higher level. You will be happy, so will be your employees.
Be more focused on using it to your business advantage.
There are many projects and it infrastructure existing that have absolutely no future.
