    I worked at Gap part-time

    Pros

The discount was great! And it applied to all the stores in the Gap, Inc. family.

    Cons

Managers cared more about selling customers on credit cards than helping them shop for what they needed/wanted. I joke now that they are a credit card company that sells jeans on the side. They would threaten to reduce part-time employees hours if they did not meet their goals for credit card sign-ups.

    I worked at Gap

    Pros

pros you get 50% normal priced items

    Cons

everyone that worked there was a rich housewife who only wanted to work 8hrs a week and gossip every min of those eight hours. I liked that you get to wear your own clothes and not a heavy dress code but if you didn't have a lot of money to stay "on trend" you would be shunned, also if you showed any emotion shunned. People there are unbelievably caddy for no reason. They have archaic pos systems. They push getting credit cards on you HARD!!! and if you don't get them you get put on the red list. and anytime they have friends and family days or times when they need several cards they will NOT schedule you. I do not recommend at all. Only take this job if you are house wife and need a couple hours out. or absolutely completely rock bottom desperate

    I worked at Gap part-time

    Pros

Most of the staff were great to work with.

    Cons

Store is absolutely too big to constantly have to refold clothes with very few staff. They are forceful and overbearing in making staff ask for customers to sign up for credit cards.

"Pays well in comparison to other retail companies. The company is not nearly as healthy as it once was."

I have been working at Gap full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good PTO and benefits. Also good work life balance. Employee Discounts are relatively nice. Team atmosphere. Good HR department and additional resources for employees.

    Cons

Relatively low opportunities for growth as the company is not as strong as it was in the late 90's. Stores are closing. Unrealistic sales goals and credit card goals set for stores to achieve bonus. Fashion is out of touch with today's styles.

    Advice to Management

Fix the fashion. Make goals realistic to motivate the team to achieve bonus.
