I have been working at GardaWorld part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Easy to get a job here even if you don't have any prior experience

    Cons

    Low pay
    Too much work
    Disorganized
The management doesn't care much about their guards

    Advice to Management

Some of the sites require a lot of work and the pay is not enough. Management needs to raise wages at such sites.

I have been working at GardaWorld part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are almost no pro's working for gardaworld as a floater in my experience except flexibility since you can work whenever you want by calling for shifts.

    Cons

    -Pay is horrible (minimum wage)
-No increments , you start at minimum and you stay at minimum wage even if your with them for 1--10 years.
-Terrible management, they give you shifts and cancel whenever they want at little notice. Sometimes I would show up to shifts and they would tell me to go home cause they dont need me or their overstaffed.

    Advice to Management

Treat your guards better, and dont expect the world from them when you pay us peanuts.

I have been working at GardaWorld full-time

    Pros

Lenient work environment, no real rules of conduct. No real rules depending on what level you get hired at.

    Cons

No possibility of upward movement, promotion, or wage increases. Constant interference from management without any experience in the things they manage. High expectations and low wages.

    Advice to Management

Ask the people who deal with customers on a daily basis what the problems are. Don't call another meeting with only management staff to figure out what to change without knowing what the problems are.

    Pros

Pay is not bad. Fellow guards are nice and helpful

    Cons

Some supervisors are pretty high on themselves and not very helpful. Some are just a bunch of yes men/women and won't think twice about throwing you under the bus I will stay until I get another job.

    Advice to Management

Entire Ottawa management team should be replaced. They have no respect for the guards and treat them poorly .

    I worked at GardaWorld full-time

    Pros

They hire anyone. training for a week

    Cons

Most of the shifts are rotating shifts. Seven days on 3 days off. Days, afternoons then overnights. Really hard to take. I was told it was a straight afternoon shift and when I got there was shown the schedule and it was the rotating 7 day shifts. I asked to be moved and was told just do one rotation. After a month I said OK now move me. They sent me to interview at a straight afternoon shift . I said yes to the site, The scheduler calls me back and says he made a mistake that it is the same shift as the first site . Of course I say no. They then say I am fired because I refused 2 sites.

    Advice to Management

    Stop lying to people.

I have been working at GardaWorld full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of hours and variety of shifts, hired on quickly and working the very next day

    Cons

Poor management, manager doesn't know anything about security, no proper training for each site, no employee care, office a complete dump, wage based on site not guard experience, so much more...

    Advice to Management

Take care of your employees, willing to learn and take other advice, be compassionate
