    Pros

Honestly i can't think of any? they treat you like crap, and expect way to much for what they pay!

    Cons

You can never get a day off from dispatch, they will wine, complain and threaten with loss of employment if you dare ask. Going above dispatch doesn't help either, no one cares, your only a number to them and that number is disposable.

    Advice to Management

Start treating your employees with respect they deserve. Reorganize the company structure so lower employees are treated with respect and replace dispatch with people who like what they do!

    Pros

Benefit package from local union, and that's with NO help from Garda

    Cons

Dispatch officers are RUDE, well more like IGNORANT
Management does NOT address issues in a timely matter
Schedulers are NOT on top of things, they complain about your vacations, like I'm NOT suppose to take them.....DUH,,, you take yours, don't you !!!??!!!!
The provide little if ANY of your Union information, they don't want to see you informed..
I have NEVER disliked a job or company in my WHOLE entire life, that in it;s self is SAD
The Human Resource employers are actually VERY immature and silly and BULLIES !!!
Garda says they will give you proper training, more like NOT, I worked at a job for 3 hours and they left me on my own in a condominium, DOWNToWN TORONTO, on a FRIDAY night.. HELLLOO !!

My overall impression of GARDA is this:

    I would rather be jobless..!!!!!!!

    Advice to Management

Have your Head Office and Over night staff, take a lesson is in importance, respect and compassion. They are the MOST rude people I have EVER dealt with, EVER !!!!

I have been working at GardaWorld full-time

    Pros

Nothing really, other than the location and free parking

    Cons

Recruiters are very unprofessional, ask questions very irrelevant to position.
Compensation offered well below market rate!

    Advice to Management

Hire people with experience to work on your Recruitment so that you can get best quality candidates hired.

I worked at GardaWorld part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Cant think of any, non zip..

    Cons

Tell you your going top get full time, then bring in more pt employee's to make sure you don't get full time, which means no benefits, 6 months, one pair of pants , one shirt, how's that for being professional, The only reason I give you one star, is because they don't have any more lower options, or you would get a minus , Garda doesnt want to send me my last check, its been a month now , and still haven't received it, going to the labour board very soon. If you want to be used to the fullest extent , try this place,, good luck you'll need it.

    Advice to Management

Get one, you sit in your office all day , why don't you visit your sites, and show some kind of leadership, again what a joke of a company...

I have been working at GardaWorld full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The only real pro is coworkers. Pay and benefits are purely the result of union efforts.

    Cons

General Manager is unqualified ( was a bartender), Check Point Managers invent policies while ignoring labour code and the CBA, so-called quality leads are unfamiliar with CATSA sop changes and are highly confrontational, employer changes schedules without telling staff, health and safety concerns are ignored. CATSA would do well to cancel current agreements with Garda.

    Advice to Management

Come interview screeners WITHOUT the local senior mangers present to get honest answers as the local mangers use fear and intimidation to suppress truth.

I worked at GardaWorld full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It's work and it can pay you.

    Cons

    Awful management
More drama than a high school
    Lack of benefits
    No sick pay
    No vacation days
Management promoted on a brown-nosing basis
Management does not take responsibility for actions
    Lack of crisis management
No training for new employees- employees are assigned to sites way beyond their scope and skills and not offered any additional training in advance as basic security training does not cover most aspects of actual, hands-on securit work
14 hour+ days with awful overtime

    Advice to Management

More transparency, treat your employees with respect, and pay them what they deserve. They deal with a lot of situations and don't get paid nearly enough.

I have been working at GardaWorld full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Impossible to get fired, unless you kill someone. You can call in sick as you wish because you never talk to your boss.

    Cons

Management is awful they do the strict minimum. The secretary does interview instead of managers. Trucks are in bad shape and it takes a long time before they get repaired, if they do get repaired. Managers do not listen to employees suggestions for productivity. No discipline at all when someone does something wrong. They hire anyone who is a "wanabe" police officer. No training for recruits, new contracts or new procedures. No meetings, they do not advise when an event happen (robbery...etc...), Underpaid for the job and no advancement possibilities. Surprised that the company is still up and running.

    Advice to Management

Listen to employees suggestions and WORK!

Nice uniform, Worldwide company, nothing more

    Cons

They were supposed to respect the my schedule of availability send each week
They send you 60 km away and do not pay km, call you when you're not available, and when you are they don't call you.
No advantage, treat you as number
Send you 50 km away for a 3 hrs shift
    Call you last minute

    Advice to Management

Change the way you treat your employee,

I have been working at GardaWorld full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

General Camaraderie with coworkers. many site clients very reasonable to work with.

    Cons

Branch management treat staff poorly and not the assets they are. They have trouble answering phones and emails. Wages are poor and Union supports management over members as benefits are weak, i.e.-basic benefits, no sick days for illness or family issues, poor support, lack of proper uniforms and proper training.

    Advice to Management

Get your act together and try working with the staff instead of hiding at office.
