I have been working at Garden City Hospital full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You learn a lot like drawing blood, cpr, and being kind to patients. I really like working here and like the people I work with. The doctors are great.

    Cons

Nurses telling you what to do, techs not doing there job and being lazy and also nurses being lazy. Sometimes the charge nurse needs to be a little more stern.

    Pros

Friendly staff across the hospital in addition to good location to work

    Cons

Seem to always have low census in turn causing most employees to be called off up to 4 or 5 days a week, most of the building looks like it is from the 90s

    Advice to Management

Look to update facility and only hire the help you need

I worked at Garden City Hospital full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

A community hospital with a family feel among the remnant who remember how things were before GCH's acquisition by Prime Healthcare of Ontario, California. It used to have a nice package of benefits once.

    Cons

Mandatory flu shots. Arbitrary decrees by corporate staff. A reckless disregard for sound administration of legacy benefit plans.

    Advice to Management

Sell GCH to a non-carpetbagger outfit.
