I worked at Gardner Denver full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good company, benefits, products. Maintains market trends, new product development and sales enablement. Promotes from within and rehires where possible.

    Cons

Top down culture. Senior managers have longer tenure than middle managers. Middle managers treated as fall guy when things go south instead of support.

    Advice to Management

Need to shift management style to allow more employee involvement.

I worked at Gardner Denver as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Great experience builder: worked with multiple engineers from different departments to learn about all aspects of the business
Somewhat Flexible hours: 40/week, start/end time doesn't have to be a specific time every day
Great community/atmosphere: everyone is very kind and helpful when needed

    Cons

Warehouse is very hot in summer

    Benefits are generous.
    Culture is sane!

    Cons

KKR moved the offices to Milwaukee, Wisconsin -- otherwise I would still be there, enjoying it!

I worked at Gardner Denver full-time

    Pros

They are extremely flexible with scheduling and expose you to the leading edge of that field. I really enjoyed my employment.

    Cons

There are no cons except for the location. The town is poor and lacks some amenities that small towns won't have.

    Advice to Management

Keep on keeping on. Management left you to do your work and would help advise on problems when asked for assistance.

I have been working at Gardner Denver full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pay, benefits, and growth opportunities are good and there are opportunities to contribute in a meaningful way. This is a brand new office in a cool area (3rd Ward) of town so there is quite a lot of bars and restaurants close to the office. the company is paying for my parking too.

    Cons

New office, so policies and procedures are still being developed. There has been quite a bit of construction, so the environment has been somewhat disruptive and congested, but that seems to be getting better.

    Advice to Management

More communication about how the different businesses are doing.

GD offers many learning opportunities, great benefits including medical, optical and dental insurances, 401-K, and vacation. They are very supportive of family and aware of your life outside of employment.

    Cons

As GD is a global company, you have to be willing to work with International Divisions and Companies within all aspects of employment.

    Advice to Management

Continue to grow your employees. You are doing a great job!
