I worked at Gardner Denver full-time

    Pros

Some really great management level people in the Fort Worth office, and most of the coworkers in the office are easy to work with.

    Cons

Having managers over departments that they don't understand or aren't around enough to get a feel for the team is generally a bad idea. The only career opportunities are management, if you don't want to manage people you are stuck.

    - Location is not the best
    - Management discouraged open communication, constant fear of stepping on toes

    Pros

    Good people to work with.

    Cons

Management lays off key roles without replacing them and then adds more duties to other employees than work day allows with empty promises. Pay does not match what is expected. Insurance requirements are ridiculous.

    Advice to Management

Stop making promises to employees that you have no intention of keeping.

I worked at Gardner Denver (More than 8 years)

    Pros

They offer a full product line that allows for multiple opportunities as a Product Manager.. The product line is fairly up to date with R&D changes happening. The distribution network is strong overall.

    Cons

Advancement is definitely based on who not what you know or your performance. They are not as big picture focused as they should be. Opportunities for market share growth are out there but they seem to pass on them. Too many changes in direction and upper management

    Advice to Management

Listen to the long term employees and focus on keeping top talent. Get out of the who you know game. Put more effort and resources into R&D and engineering.
