    Cons

I worked at Gardner Denver full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The upper management there is such a great group of people. They truly invested time and resources into my development. I got bored, they gave me special projects. If I wanted to take a class, they paid for it happily. They also listened to the things I wanted to get out of my experience there and allowed me to do those things.

    Cons

The opportunity for advancement is present but at my level, that meant relocating. I think this is pretty much the norm for companies of this size so I don't know that I would really call it a "con". It is directly related with the oil and gas market so when things are good, they are really good. However, when they are bad, they are really bad and usually include large lay-offs.

I worked at Gardner Denver full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good working environment. I found all the people there very friendly, and easy to work with.

    Cons

Even though the writing was on the walls with regards to downsizing, the company could have been more forthright about layoffs.

    Advice to Management

Be 100% honest with regards to layoffs. Rather than having last minute (hour) layoffs, give the employees a 60 day warning so they can look for jobs while still employed.
