I have been working at Garretson Resolution Group full-time

    Pros

None, they lie to everyone and don't think anything about it.

    Cons

The responses to the posts by the company are a joke. The president tries to come off as a concerned, approachable guy that wants to hear from you; as long as you don't tell him something he doesn't want to hear. Then he is a dismissive, condescending little man. He has ingratiated himself by cutting people, costs and overall gutting the Cincinnati office and half of Charlotte looks like a ghost town. So very sad.

    Advice to Management

Give it up...you have ruined this company.

    Pros

If you are a relative of someone who works there, you're golden. Otherwise, best to look elsewhere.

    Cons

Lack of leadership. Constantly rotating management team. Extreme nepotism. Not made to feel like you matter.

    Pros

Lots of potential for organizational growth

    Cons

Unstable business processes, IT systems and leadership.

    Advice to Management

Would you like to improve your position? In recent months-has the chaos increased? Executive leadership must have the right blend of experience, people skills and intelligence. Without the right blend of skills, decisions are made whimsically and result in chaos. Employ industry best practices. Avoid being the lowest bidder— clients get what they pay for.

    Pros

Opportunity for promotion and great pay to start. Some managers and execs were great listeners and quite flexible. The CEO and President were GREAT guys who were really down to earth and approachable.

    Cons

Some executives and managers had NO people skills and poor understanding of what the company actually does and of SOPs.

I worked at Garretson Resolution Group full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Some very good and smart folks have worked for this company

    Cons

Management and the board have destroyed what started out as a great idea with real potential. I spent nearly 5 years as part of the GRG team and was forced to deal with the miss-management scare away multiple potential clients, possible investment groups and high quality employees including multiple highly skilled executive level operations, finance and information technology resources. Advice to Management

The board needs to fire the inept management team and start over. In my opinion they need to look very hard at whether management can be held legally liable for the company miss-management.

I have been working at Garretson Resolution Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Most of the people are friendly. There is flexibility in the workplace. The office space is nice. They provide coffee daily and a beer and wine happy hour once a month.

    Cons

Upper management seems to be trying to run the company on a shoestring budget. Yet another mid-level manager is leaving that probably won't be replaced. The IT department is incompetent which makes it difficult to keep systems running properly.

    Advice to Management

Wouldn't do any good to leave advice here. They don't listen.

I worked at Garretson Resolution Group full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Awesome co-workers, fairly young and lively group, free coffee, and interesting/challenging subject matter. The Project management and data analyst teams are fortunate to have great direct management.

    Cons

Upper management doesn’t understand what anyone does, and there is way too much workload to ever be manageable. When employees leaving they are not replaced and current employees have to absorb the work until they hit a breaking point. Once it gets horrendous they MIGHT consider hiring someone but even then will require months of training before ever actually becoming helpful. The company fosters a very casual environment...

    Advice to Management

Let real leaders manage the company vs the “co founders.” They can chase the opportunities but have no need to be in operations. Also look to your truly good, dedicated employees with so many years of service and promote from within. Many of your senior workers would be much better suited than all of the outsiders brought in over the years that eventually just leave. They have the knowledge and many of them could lead...

    Pros

Some good people work here who are talented and want to do their best, but often feel stifled by inept management.

    Cons

Poor management, lack of structure, low moral. The constant feeling like nothing we do will ever see the light of day.

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Garretson Resolution Group full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great place to work with good opportunity to learn and advance your career. Opportunity is also given to be innovative, and create new processes.

    Cons

Seems like we are continuing in the same patterns and have not learned from our mistakes. Most people are extremely overwhelmed with their current tasks but more are constantly being added even though their concerns are being communicated to their managers. People tend to not want to take the time to learn their jobs, and solve for the issues they encounter but rather tend to prefer to pass their work off on others.

    Advice to Management

Continue learn and be willing to really get to know your people. As we continue improving and changing be honest, transparent and open with staff about what is really happening. Fill some of the numerous position vacancies so that people who are absorbing all of this work don't continue to drown also resign as we have seen repeatedly over the past year. The overall sense is that we are not heard which is extremely frustrating...

    Pros

This was a fun place to work. No one knew what was going on and every once in a while there would be a flurry of activity and then things would settle back to normal. There would be occasional free meals and the coffee was OK. It was pretty amusing to see the suits..or rather suit...prance about.

    Cons

The only way to get an upper level position is if you knew someone already in that inner circle or were related to someone. Some, not all, of the people in "management" had NO business there. Nepotism should be a job requirement. Charlotte will be the only office by the end of 2018. Cincinnati will be shuttered. Just look at the job openings listed on Glassdoor....see any in Cincinnati??
