I have been working at Garten Rothkopf full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Interesting and intellectually challenging projects for Fortune 500 companies. Exposure to various rewarding responsibilities. Steep learning curve. Flat organizational structure creates great efficiency.

    Cons

A fast moving environment. Need to be able/willing to learn/adapt quickly and feel comfortable with multi-tasking.

    Pros

There's lots of room for growth and exploration and you get exposure to and experience in a ton of relevant, important topics with a particular focus on energy. The clients are interesting and the work goes towards influencing important strategic decisions in both the private and public sector. You're given a lot of independence to work on projects which gives a real sense of ownership over the work.

    Cons

Things are fast paced, so you definitely need to be willing to learn and adapt and be able to become an expert on unfamiliar topics quickly.

I have been working at Garten Rothkopf full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

You get the opportunity to work on a small but diverse team of professionals tackling some of the more interesting analytical questions around US and global policy. Interesting clients - both public and private sector.

    Cons

Not for someone who wants to develop one deep specialization - projects are client driven, which requires a lot of flexibility and willingness to take on new issues and work outside your comfort zone.
