I have been working at Gartner full-time

    Pros

Amazing people, culture and work life balance. I love that I manage my own schedule so I can actually us the PTO offered and not feel bad about it. I am challenged every day and I actually enjoy going to work.

    Cons

None that I have found so far. You truly have to work hard but that's not a con to me.

    - comprehensive on boarding

    Cons

    - very traditionally corporate culture (subjective so may not be a con)
    - Too many acronyms that make onboarding less smooth

I have been working at Gartner full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Corporate culture, competitive pay, amazing training, opportunities for advancement, collaboration is encouraged and celebrated, leadership is engaged in your success, sales recognition is an important part of the culture, world leader in the industry with no comparable peers. While our competition struggles, we keep growing and getting stronger!

    Cons

I have worked for some truly horrible companies, and while no company in perfect, I honestly can not think of anything substantive to say negatively about Gartner.

    Advice to Management

    Keep being awesome!

I have been working at Gartner full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A ton of room for advancement early out in a sales career.

    Cons

Understanding the Value Prop and Communicating Gartner can take newer reps a while to fully get it down.

I have been working at Gartner full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great company, very young, great value selling training. I would say this is all time the best company to work for with limitless opportunities.

    Cons

Favoritism or work politics plays a huge part here. This only should mean you should continue working hard, making sure you make your intentions known in order to be successful, and don't give up.

I have been working at Gartner full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent brand. Opportunity to overachieve quota for accelerated commissions. Opportunities exist for professional development. Generous travel budget, which allows for more client facing rather than selling through Webex.

    Cons

Sales targets can be too aggressive, insistence on 20% year over year growth. Difficult to overcome a quota miss, which leads to high turnover.

    Advice to Management

    Retain talent longer.

I have been working at Gartner full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

youre working alongside people who were vetted through the same vigorous process you went through.

    Benefits are great.

I see A LOT of people with "work/life balance" as a con, I disagree completely and think it's very easy to maintain balance with this position.

LOTS of support from the internal teams - sales, product & professional development

Upward mobility after 18-24 months (permitting you meet quotas etc)

Upward mobility not your thing? I've been contacted by 5 recruiters from huge companies since being hired at Gartner.

    I'm very happy here.

    Cons

End of each quarter you're at the office pretty late (10pm,11pm) and month end you also have to stay around a while (6pm,7pm)

    Pros

Professional growth opportunity. Good culture. Competitive compensation. Great benefits.

    Cons

    Too many 23 year olds.

    Advice to Management

Focus on more experienced professionals in the recruiting process. Not necessarily sales experience, but at least business experience.
