I have been working at Gartner full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Brilliant, humble co-workers and leadership team. The benefits are outstanding, from the 401k, PTO, to Medical and Stock Purchase Program. As a 20 yr veteran of the IT field, I have never worked at an org who had a better work-life balance. As a very inquisitive individual, it is awesome to have access to all the Gartner Research and Analyst.

    Cons

You must be a very good time manager or you will struggle to find the right balance and prioritization of work. The onboarding program ramp-up may be a bit aggressive for some, but I would not change it.

    Advice to Management

Continue what you are doing. Continue focusing on bringing in humble analysts who work well with others.

I have been working at Gartner full-time

    Pros

Great Company Culture, World Class training program, Several Opportunities for upward mobility. I've never worked for a company that provided a better work/life balance. Gartner is so focused on family that it's refreshing as a tenured sales rep.

    Cons

This is not a Con, but sales people don't realize the complexity of the Gartner product. Definitely encourage you to reach out to a current sales person at Gartner prior to applying.

    Advice to Management

No matter what the climate of the economy, do everything you can to maintain the amazing culture that is in place.

I worked at Gartner full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You can make decent money with great work life balance if you don't care about your soul. Benefits are incredible.

    Cons

The customer does not matter - AT ALL. All that matters is sales and your are encourage to do any amount of lying or fear mongering to get it. One of their closing specialists summarized it perfectly "Every time a client opens their mouth I consider it an opportunity to upsell them." On top of the mandatory cold calling days and and mandatory weekly role plays this made for a brutal 'boiler room' culture.
