      Great for entry level

      Pros

Helps understand technology market and give you the strongest foundation you could have for an early career start. You are working directly with C-level executives and creating great business acumen. You get a great start to consultative sales. Great work life balance!

      Cons

Very difficult sale. You are selling an idea, a nice to have that you need to convince is a need to have. You may only sell one deal a year. They are long, complex sale cycles. With that, this role is not for every sales person. Just because you are good at sales doesn't mean you will make it at Gartner. Also we are way under paid for market rate.

Good company, some bad research practices

      Pros

Very fair, ethical company. Good culture generally. They don't hire jerks. People are genuinely nice, supportive, helpful. I created life-long friendships here. Salaries are good. Work-life balance is great.

      Cons

Research methods on the CEB acquisition side ("PPR" or hCEB) are incredibly bad. Managers are useless, so for people who've done research in other contexts, it's painful and fraught with ethical dilemmas about research integrity. Systems are shockingly bad. You very often have to fight just to do your job, to serve clients well. It can take forever to get promoted because there is one vision of a Gartner (really, CEB) researcher, and if you don't fit that, they don't see your value.
