I worked at Gary Jonas Computing full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Can't say there were any.

    Cons

After promising not to make any changes, they cut benefits, wages, and time off. By far the worst company I was unfortunate enough to have worked for.

    Advice to Management

Nothing to see here. Move along. Some of the people were quite nice. Hatboro is a nice little town with decent folks and some good lunch spots.

    Cons

Verbally abusive IT managers who provide little in the way of support. If you care about yourself, stay away. Far, far away.

    Advice to Management

I worked at Gary Jonas Computing full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It is a big company. There is not much more I can share that is positive about Jonas software company.

    Cons

No thoughts about the employees that they are buying up. They only look at the bottom line. Design is useless in their eyes.

    Advice to Management

Use integrity. Employees have hearts and care, realize how important that really is. Your culture seems to only be he idea of take over not acquire and grow. Lying is not a good quality for your company to have hanging over its name. Be honest with the companies you acquire. Nothing will stay the same things will change and people will get fired.

I worked at Gary Jonas Computing full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Hard to come up with anything that would make it stand out of the bunch

    Cons

Shortly after Jonas acquired Springer-Miller Systems, their so-called reorganization effort completely destroyed one of the main products. Jonas mgmt had no clue what they were doing and relied solely on advice from a then-recently hired senior manager who had zero vested interest in the product or customers.
    - Total disregard to input from experienced senior employees
    - Senior mgmt is always right, even if everyone says they're wrong
    - Little or no room for career growth, especially if you're a top performer
    - Major disconnect between senior mgmt and those who actually deliver the product
    - Doesn't feel like a forward-looking software company

    Advice to Management

Upgrade your mentality regarding who you speak and listen to and what you do after acquiring another software shop. It's worth remembering that when someone is selling you a company, it's not because it has been terribly successful, but because it has been failing one way or another.
What sense does it make to take advice from the very management that is typically at fault for the failure? Instead, it's very often the case that senior professionals within that company have known the problems (and solutions for them) all along, but have never been given a chance to be heard.

    > below average benefits
    > overworked employees.
    > average work-life balance
