      GREAT STABILITY, POOR CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

      Pros

Great life-work balance, if you are under the union's colective agreement you get 4 months of summer with reduced schedule, excellent work environment, social benefits (paid household gas and electricity) and incomparable stability overall

      Cons

Too many layers of hierarchy, bosses are poorly at delegating and some practically do your job. Regarding salaries, everything is ruled by an union agreement and nothing guarantee you a raise while switching departments or positions. The only chance is getting out of the agreement in exchange of a poor 3% raise from your salary and having to sacrifice work-life balance (e.g. working full schedule on summer). The company practically doesn't invest in their employees but instead hire people from an renowned MBA course for a 2 year rotational program ending in a managing position.

      Pros

GNF treats well its employees, it has a quite flexible HR polythics, and quite nice employees supports: lots of courses, development programs, etc. It has also a huge global presence, in many countries and many businesses, wich opens a wide door to learning and developing yourself, having the chance to move through very different positions and environments.

      Cons

Though there are a lot of courses and opportunities for employees, there comes a point when going from a technical profile to a senior management one becomes more difficult.
