I have been working at Gate Gourmet full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Get free food and soft drinks all day long.
    Easy interview process.
    Get payed weekly.

    Cons

Lied to about 90 day probation period for new hires.
One manager cares about the employees versus the other 10+.
Play the favoritism towards alot of employees they like.
If you work hard they dont like you(me)
WAY TOO MANY characters who i work with.
People will still you personal belongings.
Alot of the managers and supervisors are very unperfessional.
Managers allow there favorite employees to dress any kind of way.
Pay is fn ridiculous at 9.36 and hr. They will work you to the point where they will break you.
The food they serve is crap and only have to microwaves that have lines for over 15 to 20 mins.
Alot of people who work there do not speak english and are super rude.
Manners are unheard of at this place.
Perfect job for a high school kid.
So horrible as far as retaining employees and turnover rate is beyond ridiculous.

    Advice to Management

Change the pay rate to base of 10.50 or 10.75 per hr. Working your employees to death for 9.36 an hr is foolish. Also need to train employees for the job they are hired for. Not thelrow them somewhere and set them up to fail. Stop changing policy everyday for new hires and threating to fire them if something goes wrong that is out of there hands.

I worked at Gate Gourmet full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's union based, overtime every week, nice company to work for if you're starting out fresh from high school or are intetested in it as a career.

    Cons

Pay is very average. Especially for the amount of work you're doing...mandatory overtime of 2hrs or more a day gets very tiring very quickly. The staff only listens to the manager...

    Advice to Management

Train your supervisors more, they don't stay on top of the employees like you do so the productivity drops tremendously when you weren't around...

I would hope if there are drivers they are acutually doing some OJT with other drivers instead of working on the floor packing food away for the airplanes.
