I have been working at Gate Gourmet full-time

    Pros

Free Lunch is pretty much the only pro for working here

    Cons

Working in Food Production is a living hell, lots of bullying, people talking down on you and behind your back. Everybody expects you to work as fast as them the minute you get there, even though they've been there for over 20 years. Working fast paced is one thing but some of the tasks they give you are impossible to finish in a 8 hour time period. Lots and lots of people talking bad about you, management does not seem to care, most of them join. Would not recommend anyone to work in this department, they hate new people coming in there and make sure you know it. Could be a great workplace but the management seems to have no idea what they are doing.

    Advice to Management

Give new employees positive people to get training from. Don't throw us in high pressure situations in our first week of working there. Try to understand everybody is different.

I worked at Gate Gourmet full-time

    Pros

Some dedicated people, mostly at the front lines

    Cons

Terrible management. The senior leadership in Canada is more interested in organizing golf parties for the old boys than in managing. There is no vision for the future and favouritism is obvious to everyone: you're either in or you're out. Bullying is permitted and supported by the leadership. There are some good people trying to do the right thing but their voices are drowned out. Sales department is a joke, Operations is behind the times. This company needs a whole new revamp.

    Advice to Management

    Remove the senior leadership team.

    Pros

    Great company.. great people..great management

    Cons

Union , company benefits, having to pay for food, to much authority given to employees

    Advice to Management

Stop letting employees rule the company. Cross train more. Involve floor mangers with decision making as they are your front line
